I'm hitting the same issue with a 3g 8gb model. Any hints would be very much appreciated.

Hey everyone, im new to this forum and could use a little help. After successfully installing and running UltraSn0w I am up and running with everything EXCEPT the phone portion. Im getting either "searching" where it should say Tmobile, or "no signal". My other Iphone 2G 3.0 modem firmware 04.05.04_G was unlocked the exact same way and has full Tmobile signal when I put the same sim card in there. I am thinking it must be my modem firmware. Is there anyway to downgrade it even if it means going back to 2.0?? Does anyone have step by step instructions on how to do this? I have both a PC and MAC and access to pwnage iliberty redsnow..etc etc etc..Any help would be very appreciated!

After scouring for days I finally have figured out that im going to have to wait for fuzzyband or a similar app to be updated and released that will downgrade my baseband. Currently as i understand the latest baseband to be able to be downgraded by fuzzyband is 5.08. Anything after that cannnot be downgraded yet and you will get the "searching""no service" notices. Also as I understand there is no workaround. Even if you downgrade below 3.0 your baseband remains the same. So here I am waiting. If im wrong please let me know. Thanks!!

Is there any news on yet on returning our expensive iBricks back into iPhones?

My phone - Originally AT&T - iPhone 3G 8GB
bought in Oman - Middle East - Unlocked - BUT no evidence of how, i.e. No Cydia installed..
It wanted to upgrade to 2.2.1 and beyond but ignored it until 3.0 and the Ultrasn0w release came out...

Now it is Portugal on Vodafone PT - 3 Sim Cards tried but no success...
Still No Service...

It was 3.0 Upgraded
Cydia installed
Ultrasn0w added...

Worked fine for 5 days... (but no 3G)...
Then "No Service"- Vodafone replace SIM, I restore and Cydia and Ultra again...

Works for 5 days... then "No Service"- new SIM card again... now - restore, cydia, ultrasn0w but NEVER got a service.....

Help....

HI, i'm just a newbie, but i got solution for this ( no service after ultrasn0w unlock)

this is step by step:
1. after install ultrasn0w, turn off 3G and reboot, and insert simcard
2. don't press OK or just leave if have warning "no simcard inserted"
3. wait for "no service" and turn on airplane mode
4. take off simcard, n insert simcard again
5. turn off airplane mode
and ur service will be back

One of my iPhones ran 3.0.1 for some time with multiple SIM-cards working perfectly, one day SIM-card #1 failed to pick up a signal so I switched SIM-card (another provider) but after a day or two this failed as well. I've done numerous unlocks before but this particular White 16GB iPhone 3G simply will not move an inch in the right direction.

PwnageTool 3.1 worked like a charm whereas Ultrasn0w does seem to work right after I've jailbroken and unlocked (although 3G did not work) but fails in a matter of hours/days. Eventually I always get the Searching... part where the reception bars are represented by dots (.....) and I get the E (Edge) sign meaning I can surf and check my emails but cant use SMS or call.

I've read the ultrasn0w-dylib.log and lockdownd.log but they seem not to tell anything unless you're GeoHot or Musclenerd....

Looking forward to ultrasn0w 1.0 on the 25th of September!

btw, anyone else experiencing that a fresh jailbreak and unlock tends to stick for a few days? Mine does this,. I just jailbroke and unlocked and it worked but I know that in 3-4 days I will loose the signal and I'm back at square one again

Probably one of those piggy back SIM's soldered to the sim tray!! If it was unlocked without jailbreaking... Open the phone and try to see!

Hey guys, I have an Iphone 3G which I've updated with the latest software, jailbreaked it with blackrain and unlocked it with ultrasnow. Of course I got No Service right away...so after long hours of research I removed Ultrasnow and unlocked it with blacksnow and now it works beautifully.
