Default [Question] How do I know the jailbreak used?

Hi

Urgent question as i have my cousin here with me.. he has bought a iphone 3gs but how do you tell its rev 3 or previous ones ?

Dude, 3GS is rev 3. Rev 2 was 3G. Depends on what you call "rev 3" though...

what am trying to find out is, how do i know which jailbreak is on it, meaning the new bootram or old

Get the terminology straight... Jailbreak is not on the phone when you buy it, it's what you do to gain access to system files... Check the fourth and fifth digits in the serial number on the box - if it's 40 and higher, then you might be looking at the new bootrom.
