programs downloaded and installed from installous

is it possible to back up the programs that i download from installous to itunes from my 3g s? is there such thing? also...if i download programs from appulo.us to my computer how do i get it into my 3G s?

1. if you put the IPAs in the photos directory and symlink that to the downloads directory then itunes will back them up.
2. you can use openssh to copy them to the phone

3.... and this is more important! this forum is against the use of installous and any and all piraticy of iphone applications

how do you "symlink" or what do you mean? so there's no way to back up what i installed already?

No discussion of pirated material in this forum please.
If you buy the app the it will sync.
If you didn't buy it then it's not yours to have.

Just for the record, Installous can be used for installing $0 App Store software as well, and to get around the requirement of having an account (aren't there countries without an App Store?). Also, some free software isn't available in all App Stores around the world.
But I don't disagree with you guys, pirating software is wrong.

you are right with that argument.... BUT lol that utility is mostly piracy

even if its pirating of the free apps and the paid apps

Even tho it can be argued as a grey area, the discussion should be somewhere else and not on this forum

I actually found a legitimate(ish) use for this today. I bought StoneLoops a while ago and never reinstalled it since I upgraded my firmware. Went to get it from the app store today and noticed it's been taken down due to some lawsuit. Haven't downloaded it yet but I do think I'm entitled to the game I bought regardless of recent events.

Actually I definitely do have a legitimate use for Installous. I purchased GeoDefense Swarm a while back and only found out recently that on 3.1.2 I am not able to play it using the latest version (1.1). Downgrading to 1.0.5 makes it run perfectly. Don't know if it's some kind of anti-jailbreak thing (not about to delete my jailbreak for a single game) but it most definitely doesn't work on jailbroken devices at game version 1.1 where game version 1.0.5 works perfectly. As a paying customer, not able to play latest version, this annoys the hell out of me and I have let the developer know... since he hasn't replied I'm guessing that it's some kind of anti-jailbreak thing... seems like quite a low blow to me.
