Default iPhone 3gs with 3.0 unlocked frooze up after factory reset. Options?

I have downloaded 3.1.2 activated for 3gs (2,1) now. I am so worried.

Is this the correct way to go? My iphone was unlocked with 3.0 and has not been restored to anything else than 3.0

I do not think ecid shsh is on file...

iTunes will be able to restore this file? I tried with 3.0, but iTunes will not sign that. But they "sign" 3.1.2?

Thanks a bunch for any replies.

You can restore to 3.1 or 3.1.2, apple is still signing both.

However if you ever thing you will need to rely on being able to unlock with ultrasn0w, you should restore to a pwnagetool custom 3.1 or 3.1.2 as this will disable updating your baseband.

This is a custom ipsw from piratebay:

iPhone2,1_3.1.2_7D11_Custom_Restore_ACTIVATED.ipsw

I assume it has the 3.0 baseband?

It is not like that, the ipsw created by pwnagetool still has the actual 05.11.07 baseband as a file in the restore ramdisk. However the option to update the baseband during the restore is turned off in a config file contained on the ramdisk. So in effect you stay on the baseband you had before you restored. THis should be 04.26.08

I downloaded that ipsw you mentioned but have not been able to open up the ramdisk yet, i must have the wrong decryption keys or something.

Yeah I finally got the restore image decrypted (it only decrypts for me if I run xpwntool to decrypt directly on the iphone) and I saw that baseband was indeed disabled. I had to go out before I could post that. Glad to hear you had success.
