hello fellas...am a fledgling wen it comes to toying wid apple stuff and just bought a new iphone 3gs 32 gb model. and i was told by the shopkeeper tat it is officially unlocked and had paid a fortune to get it. and as usual i'm paranoid about, if or not i've been cheated. so here are my questions.


Q1) is there a way to know if an iphone is factory unlocked or 3rd party software unlocked?

Q2) how do i start jailbreaking? i mean if its factory unlocked should it just be enough if i go to this site ( purplera1n ) and download it and run it while my iphone is connected via usb to windows comp? or is there a preliminary meddling tat needs to be done to jailbreak it.

Q3) and about the post-jailbreak iphone... can i connect it to itunes with my internet connection on and still not worry about my Iphone getting bricked or something ominous happening to it?

Q4) can i still download the free apps tat are put in itunes and install them in my JB'en iphone 3gs?

gaawd..i guess these questions are the ones bursting in my mind. please guys ll be glad if any of u ll be able to answer the questions...n if anyone does...thanks in advance.....n yeh to be completely courteous...sorry for the trouble. :-)

oh thanks...but then do i have to download a custom ipsw before running the blackrain or should i directly download the windows app and run after i open my iphone? and one more thing...if i download cracked apps from appulo.us or sinfuliphone.com how do i install the apps into my iphone? by sending them over bluetooth or using itunes?

Using cracked apps is frowned upon by most members of this forum and you're not likely to get help here in that regard. From what I've gathered, the moderators don't appreciate discussion of that topic either. There are other places to get help regarding those things and you should go there for it.

A lot of the people who post on this board are the very same developers who write the applications you're asking for help to run cracked copies of.

Just sayin'.
