before some one says this is illegal let me tell you IT ISNT IN EVERY COUNTRY so if your not going to be constructive please stay out of the thread
![]() i want to know if there is a method to change the IMEI on the 3GS even if it doesnt change the physical chip but rewrites the software reporting it like ziphone did for the 2g if not is there any project that is working on it? what about a new ziphone for the 3gs would it be possible and/or probable? thanks |

I'm not aware of any country where falsifying the singularly identifiable handset information in order to gain access to cellular networks with a device not approved for access is legal, though I'm not intimately familiar with the laws of every country on the planet.
That said, I wouldn't ask around here too much about this, as vikram mentioned, this type of behavior is widely frowned upon due to the high percentage of time that it involves stolen devices or illegal activity. Lastly, to answer your question (wouldn't want to forget to provide something constructive), at present there is no known way to reflash the IMEI chip on the iPhone 3G[S] and I hope there never is one -- don't want to have to worry about someone stealing my phone and re-IMEI'ing it. |
