Default Baseband Question should I upgrade?

I am new to the iphone and have a jail broken 3gs on 3.1. I used the pwnage tool and it worked like a charm.

I am with At&t and don't plan on leaving.. If all i need is to be jail broken are there any advantages to having the updated baseband. Right now I am on 4.26.08.

Thanks

The advantage is if you ever plan to sell your iPhone 3gs and it's unlocked you will be able to fetch a bit more cash.

The advantages seem to be purely cosmetic (carrier name and logo appearing in status bar). I could upgrade to new baseband safely (factory unlocked phone) but have not done so yet. Have noticed no real difference in mobile reception or battery life.
