now that iPhone has hit China i see a lot of sites selling 'cheap' unlocked iPhones online.

i have been very skeptical up until now, when an ex colleague emailed me today saying he bought one from a company in china and to his surprise when the iPhone arrived it was a genuine factory unlocked iphone and not an imitation...

has anyone else had any experience of buying from china for use outside china?

forget that, from what I can see most (if not all) of these sites are total scams.

be careful the fake iphone looks a lot like the original iphone. BE CAREFUL.

I have visit Shenzhen in China last month.
When I have stayed in AirPort, Some guy show me iPhone and He have tried to sell to me.
I have compared the phone - Appearence is identical, there is no way to distinguish before turn-on and digging the software.
Actually, primary screen also same.
Should be careful!!!

Stop by Hong Kong and go to Apple where you can actually get a authentic factory unlocked iPhone.

There's no brick-and-mortar Apple store in Hong Kong... You can only buy online from Apple HK if you have HK address and credit card. Apple ships these unlocked bad boys only within HK
