Is ti possible to Build ipsw on a seperate machine?

From reading the instructions on iClarified, it seems as if the phone does not need to be connected until the IPSW is complete.

My question:....Is it possible to have my brother build the IPSW on his MAC (without my iPhone), e-mail me the built file and I then restore with Itunes?

Any input would be appreciated

that should work only if u were jailbroken without the baseband updated before.... just use itunes to update to that custom .ispw

Of cause you can do. There are several sources on the web, offering custom ipsw (no direct links here). best way is the one you are up to. Create a custom firmware on your brothers Mac, without any iPhone attached, copy the ipsw to your Windows-PC or Mac and do the restore. This way youcan be sure to have a real working ipsw.

glad u got it working.... i'm still one of the few who still waiting for my 3gs 3.1 OTB unlock to appear and jailbreak from greenpois0n.
