I recommend to use iTunnel suit.
If you have been installed, (1) make a folder (2) copy follows - iTunnel.exe - iTunesMobileDevice.dll (it should be lastest version with iTunes 8.2) - FileBrowser.exe (it's WinSCP) (3) connect iPhone - run : iTunnel.exe - run : FileBrowser.exe or (WinSCP.exe) (4) setup as - Host name : 127.0.0.1 - User name : root - Password : alpine - Protocol - File protocol : SCP * and click [Save...] button. if you want to connect via WIFI, you can set IP address of iPhone on Host Name. In this case, you don't need to run iTunnel.exe before connect. If you run 1st time, it will takes around 3-5 mins. You need to wait. |

If you guy basically want to copy files, manage stuff ... It is best to use ifunbox (Windows) or iphoneview (mac).
These programs allows you to connect to iphone file system directly without the need for openssh/ssh. It works even on Jailed phone but you will not have access to the root file system. SSH is useful if you want to some advance stuff such as apt-get and etc ... In such case, mobile terminal will suffice as well
