since upgrading it before I hadnt been able to get 3G on my iPhone so i decided to update it and try to use redsnow and yellowsnow to get it back open. but after upgrading and trying to use redsnow following this tutorial given to me in the past my phone wont unlock?

after following the redsnow instructions my phone and itunes still looks like this :



any help with this?

What carrier are you with? It seems from your description that your phone was not hacktivated by redsn0w. Did you run redsn0w with your SIM card inserted in the phone?

im with O2 and yes my sim was in the phone when i was unlocking.

any help guys?

Are you on a legitimate iPhone contract with o2? I would suspect not.

Well, what os did you restore thru itunes, 3.0, 3.0.1, 3.1 or 3.1.2?

you have to press Shift + Restore and restore only a saved 3.0 or 3.0.1 os (you could download these os from any website) then you could jailbreak and unlock your phone.

for 3.1 and 3.1.2 you need to press shift + Restore and ONLY restore a custom ispw created by pwnage tools, I think the latest version 3.1.4 only works with a Mac, I don't think they will make a Windows version anymore.

If you restore to 3.1.2 straight thru itunes, then I think you are screwed.

Let's know what os you've installed, and someone here will help you with your problem.

you have a small chanse to downgrade baseband if you are on booloader 5.8 (05.08) download fuzzyband from cydia and have a look.

3G Fuzzyband Downgrader. Downgrade any baseband with a simple click of a button!

thers 2 fuzzyband on cydia, make sure you download "Fuzzyband" version 3.1-GM and NOT "3G Fuzzyband Downgrader" witch is fuzzyband 2.0

this will bring you back to baseband 04.26.08, that baseband i unlockable with ultras0w through cydia

i did press shift and restore but it made no difference whether i pressed shift or not.
i followed that tutorial to the tea, i have a custom restore version.

if i have updated through iTunes so im guessing it will be the latest - if there no hack for windows could i use a friends mac to unlock it?

any further info/help?
