I have an iPhone 3G on a custom 3.1.2 firmware. My modem firmware is 05.11.07. Is there any way I am able to change my IMEI number? I've been searching for a possible soultion for days but can't seem to find anything. I hope somone can help. Looking forward to your reply,

Is it possible to downgrade and use ZiPhone?

No, ziphone is only made for 2G iPhones and if used on a 3G iPhone it could possibly permanently damage the phone functionality.

From a technical perspective. The various iPhone hacking teams have not broken into the baseband for the 3G and 3GS at the same low level that they managed to do on the 2G iPhone. This is why downgrading baseband is generally not possible. It is also why there will probably never exist tools to do things like change the IMEI on a 3G or 3GS phone.

From a legal perspective it is also considered illegal in many countries to change the IMEI or own tools to do so. This forum does not encourage activities that are illegal.
