can i unlock & jb my 3GS??

i just got a 32gig 3GS of the street and want to know if i can unlock it

i dont know how old the phone is so im not sure if it was ever upgraded.
its running 3.1 (7C144)
model MB717LL
modem firmware 05.11.07

is there any way i can jailbreak and unlock it? i'm on t-mobile but my dad is on at&t if that helps.
