Default So I wonder..............

Hello all.

I did a full restore on my 3g last night. Got it jailbroken and unlocked, (YAY ME), using redsn0w. I used the iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.

Here are my specs

Iphone 3G
running 3.0
Jailbroken = Redsn0w
Unlocked = Ultrasn0w
Running windows XP
Itunes 9

Everything working well but my question is.........

If I want to upgrade to 3.0.1, (no, not 3.1, LOL), does anyone know if I can just use the iPhone1,2_3.0.1_7A400_Restore.ipsw that is listed here iClarified - iPhone - Where To Download iPhone Firmware Files From ( 5th one from the bottom) without an issue ? .

Thank you all in advance

Yes you can. You first update or restore to 3.0.1 via iTunes you will lose your jailbreak. I always restore because it gives better stability and battery life, but you have to set up all your apps and settings from scratch again.

You can get the jailbreak back by using redsn0w to jailbreak again and pointing redsn0w at the 3.0 image (not the 3.0.1) and it will happily jailbreak your phone to 3.0.1

Confusing, yes I know, but it works.
