i bought my phone in the USA, and i live in the UK, it is a 32gb 3gs, i unlocked it with purplerain/ultrasn0w.
my regional settings are saved as united kingdom

i travel abroad alot, and now using a different sim (as i am abroad), but when people call me, the contact name doesn't come up, only the number?

what i found worked was to change the numbers saved in my phone with internation prefix's (+44), and then it worked.

but, as i have loads of contacts, is their any other way, as i don't want to go changing all the numbers?

and when i am in england will the contact names still show, or do i need to delete the internaional prefix's?

.........so is their anyway, i can get the phone to recoginse only the last nine or ten digits?

If you save the numbers with the internationnal prefix they should work in the UK.
There are plenty of telephone number formatters for Outlook, so assuming you synch to outlook, just search for one of them and it should solve all your problems.
