I was able to downgrade 3.1 to 3.0 using iTunes 8.2 (final released version) and redsn0w 0.7.2. I put my phone into DFU, reflashed 3.0 (ignoring error 1015 at the end), shut my phone off, put it in emergency call mode (not DFU!), ran redsn0w, and all is well.

Obviously still have the upgraded BB but i dont care about unlock and im back to jailbroken 3.0

So this didn`t work for me. But i get it down from 3.1 to 3.0. Here how to do it.

1. Put your iPhone 3.1 into DFU mode (very important)
2. Open iTunes 8.2 and it will tell you to restore your iPhone. Do it with 3.0 Firmware file.
3. At the end of the restore you will get an 1015 error and your phone is in recovery mode (itunes icon with USB)
4. Get iRecovery (westbaer's irecovery at master - GitHub)
5. open telnet and type: ./iRecovery -s
6. now your are in the shell of iRecovery. Now Type following commands (after pressing enter wait 2-3 seconds):
setenv auto-boot true

saveenv

fsboot
7. After 10-15 seconds your iPhone will reboot.
8. Use redsn0w 0.7.2 to Jailbreak your iPhone.

Can someone tell me how this is done. I'm pretty sure it's through Terminal, but what do I have to type to get into the shell of iRecovery?

Open Terminal on our mac or PC. Then type ./iRecovery -s and the our are in the shell of iRecovery

Thanks joschiv, but all i get is no such file or directory

i have a problem with iRecovery.
i start it but I say this thing:

well ok. You have to go into the Directory where irecovery is. E.g irecovery is on your Desktop you have to Switch into the same directory in telnet. Cd Desktop.
