Feel free to tell me that it's unpossible. I was hoping that some developer could figure out how to make an app that scans for the bluetooth headset button being pressed (not when you're ON a call though) and launch an application. Basic idea being that this app could launch any of the voice control apps or visual dialers to reduce hands on time when driving.

Don't think it's possible. The SDK is very restrictive when it comes to bluetooth access. The new framework which should allow for bluetooth communication requires that the bluetooth device support a very specific protocol.
You only have access to this protocol if you are part of the "Made for ipod" program, which is a paid program. This means that you'd have to have a bluetooth headset which supports the ipod communication protocol and the developer would have to be part of the program. |
