do not install mobilesubstrate as it will leave you at no other option as to restore again.

Cydia and Terminal do not work, there is no BSD installed. Anyone can confirm this ?

Terminal and possibly MobileSubstrate assume that the cydia environment with all the goodies are there.

Note that the post of the dev-team shows a terminal window, so it works. And the command they issue to prove it's the new build (uname) is part of Cydia.

As for SSH: no Cydia, no shell, so no go.

The reason that pwnagetool is differente is that it *must* handle the new "compressed ramdisk" that Apple is now using on the ipsw. This, for the moment, is a show stopper for a custom ipsw.

Also, even if they this hurdle can be overcame, there is still the fact that the 02.28 baseband will not work with 3.x, so no yellowsn0w.

this is something that i wasnt aware of and i didnt think it would be that easy. thanks for info

in the end i dont have an unlocked phone and wont ever need one so yellowsn0w not working is completely irrelevant to me.

The unofficial jailbreak does work partially, does anyone know if this beta-2 version has a expiration date ?

How do i get youtube to work???? It doesn't work on 3.0 beta 1, 3.0 beta 2, and 3.0 beta 2 jailbroken, with everything being set up as a new device. I have itouch 1G.
Is there anywhere a patch for youtube that i can find on Icy?
Or if Mxtube is the only option, how do i completely remove apple's youtube.app? It's a waste of space! Help, please.

The fact that it's irrelevant to you does not mean that it's not to others

I have a factory unlocked 3G as well as another 3G, locked to AT&T, so I'm really interested in having a 3.x compatible Yellowsn0w.

I would expect that all betas have an expiration date.

But anyway, why worry? This is just another buggy beta drop.

Yes i know that the previous beta 2.0 had 9 versions.

If apple releases every 2 weeks a new beta there will be at least 5 more.
