just because what everyone is saying is to use RC2 or RC3. One of the first things I read is that it doesn't work on the new quickpwn

every new version of quickpwn is backward compatible with older firmware:

I guess I don't understand the scope of this discussion. What I am reading here is if you downgrade to 2.0.2, the new latest quickpwn does not work because activation is different ?

I can't get this to work on my iPhone 3G. I keep getting the message that my phone is not a part of the Dev Program.
Any devs here, willing to add my phone to their dev account for a small fee? |

dtube,
the "does not work" from the latest quickpwn, is that the activation made by it, wont remain after updating to 3.0. Just tested it, and they are right. Had to downgrade to 2.0.2, quickpwn, update to 3.0 and got it working. And going from 2.2 directly to 3.0 would ask me to activate the phone. Abras |

So, just to sum it up...
iPhone 2G owners will be able to upgrade with no troubles at all, 3G owners won't be able to sync with iTunes and will require to be authorized iPhone developers. Both can downgrade in case something goes wrong (3G baseband excluded). Correct? |

I am trying this method again. The first time around I got to 3.0 just fine (and activated!) but was stuck without bars (no bars, not No Signal).
I am going to DFU restore back to 2.0.2 and let iTunes activate before jailbreaking with Quickpwn. Hopefully this will resolve my no bars issue. Does anyone have any idea if this is correct? I am on AT&T, so I didn't select Unlock the first time around. EDIT: Yep, did the trick. Last edited by evenSong; 03-20-2009 at 07:24 AM. |
