Post How To: Install OS X on Acer Aspire One AOD205

Firstly you will need the following:
Hackintosh/Real Mac
8GB USB Flash Drive
Aspire One AOD250
A hammer if things go wrong...

WARNING: MUST HAE SOME BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF OS X AND HACKINTOSH, IM AM NOT LIABLE TO ANYTHING THAT GOES WORNG!!! YOU WILL HAVE TO WORK IN THE TERMINAL!!!

1. Restore the .iso image to your 8GB usb flash drive (Hackint0sh has a lot of these, search around)

2. Using osx86tools install PC_EFI v8 to your usb flash drive (Install EFI, Run FDISK button)

3. In your Aspire One's BIOS change the boot order so that "USB Hard Disk" is first. press F10 to save and exit.

CONGRATS! YOU SHOULD NOW BE ABLE TO BOOT YOUR ASPIRE ONE FROM A USB STICK!!!

4. Create 2 Partitions (Name Them MacHD (Mac OS Extended (Journaled) (one word or else you wont be able to copy over the kernel in terminal) and WINDOWS (Fat-32))

5. Click OK this will erase your hard drive and partition it into two hard drives.

6.Skip thru all the agreements (besides the "select where to install os x" Click MacHD) and other stuff tell you get to the "Install Now" screen.. Click Customize.

7. Install the following:

Kernel:
9.5.0 Voodoo Kernel

Fixes and Patches:
cpus=1

Power Management:
(pick whichever you want, ONLY ONE)

Wireless:
Artheos AR5007EG (Sometimes working, hardly ever for me)

Thats It! for now, Click install and grab something to drink. Install takes about 20 minutes...

8. Leave the flash drive plugged in. reboot back into the installer after the install has finished.

9. Open terminal then type in "cp /mach_kernel /Volumes/MacHD" without quotes.

10. type reboot. then remove the flash drive.

YOU NOW SHOULD BE ABLE TO TO BOOT OFF OF THE HARD DRIVE IN YOUR COMPUTER.. IF NOT. TRY AGAIN!!

11. Setup your computer thru the setup wizard.. and you will notice that the webcam works out of the box... GREAT!

12. Open kexthelper v7 (search kexthelper in google and download) then drag the kexts provided here Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire into kext helper. reboot.

Notice that Sound, QE/CI, and ethernet should work.

13. Find a guide on how to use kismac with and artheos ar5007eg card and follow it. you should now have wireless working \

14. Dance and sing. you now have a fully working Aspire One AOD250.

I tried using the kext from kext.zip and I get kernal panic. I tried using vanilla 9.8 and voodoo 9.5. I am using ideneb 1.4 10.5.8. I have Acer Aspire One AOD205. Any idea why I get kernal panic from the kext?

FOR ANYONE GETTING A KERNEL PANIC AT STARTUP

Hi, if you get a kernel panic. type -s at the bootloader then type this.

"mount -uw /"
rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext"
"exit"

type that without quotes.

now. you will notice that you will no longer have sound. search up VoodooHDA and insert you proper device/vendor id into VoodooHDA.kext (should be 0x103C360B)

after installation. It reboots and doesn't load up the bootloader, instead trying to boot from network etc. I check the partition flag and is set to "bootable". Any reason?
I'm using ideneb 10.5.7
