I've got Snow Leopard and the myHack on an 8GB SDHC card, but I'm unclear on your step 2. You mention "On USB device, browse to and delete IOATAFamily.kext from /system/library/extensions (this will keep us from a kernel panic when booting from this USB device)"...

There's nothing to browse on my version. In List view, I see /Extra, /Instructions, /Optional Installs and "Install Max OS X" and "pfix" files. I'm wondering if I have to have see all files enabled? Hmm. Probably. I'll have to look up how to do that since I've forgotten. But just in case that's not it, can you elaborate a little on what I should be seeing perhaps? I'm not going to try booting and installing if I haven't been able to remove a kext that causes a kernel panic. I'm fussy that way.

To delete IOATAFamily.kext, all you have to do is open the installation window (the window that shows "Install Mac OSX," "Optional Installs," etc.), click on any of the white/blank space in the window, and type cmd+shift+g. This opens up a panel that lets you type in and navigate to the directory mentioned, /System/Library/Extensions. You'll find the kext there.

Wow. That'd been easier than the show all files trick I did. Accomplishes the same thing, of course, but your method is much easier. Thanks. I did not know about that trick.

Great instructions. A couple things required some thinking, and the browse-to-delete step coulda used some explicitness, but great instructions. I haven't done anything about sound switching because I figure I'll work with headphones only for sound-related items.

Great job Noxin. I just finished my Time Machine backup. Only thing not working is gestures but that's to be expected. I have full resolution, updates, time machine, all to make for quite a setup. I'm still not completely convinced this 1024x600 is a worthwhile experience, but if I gotta use this Toshiba, it's sure nice to have the OS X experience along.

I'm glad I decided to go ahead and check back in with this forum. It seemed to go dormant for awhile but perked up just in time. Keep up the good work everyone, and please post when dot updates happen so we can continue to enjoy OS X on the Toshiba.

I am both happy & proud to announce that despite of few dead ends & a few obstacles, I now have a Toshiba nb205 running 10.6.1 (my Netbookintosh), & with the obvious exceptions, it works great!

In Astrological's post #460 it was indicated that "Atheros has been found working on Snow Leopard, will have a kext soon". I was just following up to see if anyone has yet to stumble upon said kext? If so, where can it be found? If not, how close is the release of that kext, or is there a viable work-around without having to purchase any additional components?

Secondly, now that I have 10.6.1 up & running on the machine, is there an easy way to install Windows 7 and make it a dual boot configuration without having to reformat & start from scratch? Initially, I thought I had no need to Windows support, but have second-guessed myself.

I've decided that I want to reinstall Windows XP and delete OSX from the hackbook. It's been an interesting experience, but I really want a computer that works 100%, so I'm switching to Windows 7 via installing over XP.

How do I do this? I have an external disc drive with a Windows XP disc inside of it connected to the Toshiba NB200, but it's not being recognized as a bootable drive. Any tips?

Hi all. I'm new to all this, but very much want OS X on my Toshiba.

I realize it's a long shot given that they are different machines, but I thought I'd ask if the method in the above link would work.

A second silly question: it is possible to install mac software once the toshiba is running os x, yes? Are there some issues there or ?
