First of all thanks to you all, esp Wingzero619 and Calibre97 for providing succinct directions using ideneb v1.3, etc. For those of us who use Macs regularly, I used an ideneb install from my flash drive using Disk Utility and the directions from here

I actually created 2 partitions on my 16G flash drive, one just for ideneb and a partition that contained the Toshiba "Essentials", etc as well as the 10.5.7 upgrade.

Using UInstaller on the ideneb USB flash partition enables one to see the partition during the F12 startup.

My NB205 is working great and qualifies as the biggest ipod I've ever owned.

That without having default Wi-Fi chipset working, right?
That's why I want to try Snow Leopard... or waiting 'til someone find a solution, or a kext, or something like that to make WiFi available using Leopard only.

sorry for this but i am a noob at this. i just wanted to know which netbook to get as i will be removing xp and trying to install mac os? (i have read the specs for both netbooks but wanted a users review)

Toshiba netbook is really good. I don't know if is the best to install Mac OS X (I think Mini-Dell and EEEpc are better) but it's a wonderful netbook anyway. A lot of people in this thread prefer the Toshiba than any other available.

The main issue by now is having the wifi chipset working, and here is my question:
It's true that in Snow Leopard the Atheros WiFi works. Isn't there a way to make a kext based on the Snow Leopard to make the WiFi work in Leopard?
This is the only thing which keep me on Windows XP, I can't use my netbook without WiFi.

So I bought this netbook today and was very pleased to come online and find this thread!

I'm going to put OS X on my netbook but it seems like I can't use a USB drive to do it, I'm going to borrow a USB DVD from a friend this week. I got the image tutorial from hackintosh and the Toshiba Essentials, but my big question is this:

Can we get the internal WiFi card to function?

To be absolutely honest, without this feature, I don't think I'll stay in the OS X world very long on there. I don't have a USB WiFi dongle and don't particularly want to buy one, ditto to the HP wifi card replacement.

Please tell me there is hope, especially after the Snow Leopard find. It seems besides WiFi, everything else functions great! (Minus webcam in Photo Booth?)

There is no support for Atheros WiFi chipset on Leopard.
It seems that in Snow Leopard there is support, but since it's too new, not so many people tried to install it and check the Atheros WiFi chipset situation. They preferred to use an USB dongle or change the card to another one.

There is hope, but we need someone to try to install Snow Leopard or create a kext based on it.
I tried to install SL but without success, but I'm not expert into this, so probably I made lots of mistakes while trying.

I would like to try snow leopard but i don't have the money/bandwidth to get it right now. Im sure its possible to get it working.

I don't know how, but after following Wingzero's tutorial to the T, I still have the following problems:

1. Trackpad is erratic
   The mouse moves so fast that it's not comfortably usable and although the VoodooPS2 icon is in the System Preferences, upon clicking I get 'ApplePS2SynapticsTouchPad not found,' then System Preferences crashes if I change any settings. I've run the patch from InsanelyMac forums and it did nothing.
   
2. Sleep mode doesn't work

   Did it, no workie. What happens is the computer does go to sleep, then it comes back to live within a second or so. It does this on a loop for as long as the lid is closed.
   
3. Battery monitor works, but stops at random
   It usually boots working, and if I sleep it and bring it back it works, but it'll cut out when it wants.
   
4. Of course, WiFi and Bluetooth don't work
   Wasn't expecting anything here, but I sure hope the Snow Leopard discovery finds it's way to Leopard.

I had all these problems on 10.5.7, so thought maybe upgrading to 10.5.8 would solve something, but that is not the case. All the problems still exist. I did everything the tutorial said, in the order it said to and I don't understand how I can have problems, especially with the trackpad. That seem to be way straightforward.

Any help on any of my problems would be awesome! I've searched through the forum, but it is 50 pages. I may have missed a solution somewhere.

Hey JA53N, I noticed in your status you're dual booting mac and Windows 7, I was wondering how battery life compares between those two, and XP. Which gives you the best time, my thinking is XP, and that's keeping me from upgrading to Windows 7.
