Default other kext files

What's up wingzero,

I am currently helping a friend doing the Dell XPS M1530 using iAtkos v7. It's done and loaded. However, the keyboard, trackpad and wifi are not working. Also, the resolution is limited to 1024X768. Do you mind telling me where I could go to find the kext files?

Thanks much in advance.

Much obliged,
JBauer...

@JBauer: You are very welcome. Try my kexts to see if they work. I'm not guaranteeing that they will, but it's worth a shot. For the keyboard and trackpad, you need to install the VooDooPS2 package that's located in my essentials pack. Install it and reboot. This will enable your hardware for end user input. As for the WiFi, use the 0SX86 tools to install the master kexts from the pack except for the IntelGMA950.kext. Reboot after install. This should enable the WiFi function if the chip set is supported. After that, install my Quartz update using OSX86Tools, then reboot. This should fix your resolution. If these don't work, you're going to have to go hunting for the compatible kexts which will work for your friend's laptop. Hope this helps.

@Calic0: Thanks for comment. You can try those two versions since you have them. I'm not sure if they work because I haven't tested them. If you decide to try these versions of iDeneb and they work, please post up your photos/screen shots and any other tips/tricks. It would be cool to see if the other versions work. Hopefully they do.

Default Great Guide

First thanks for the great information in this thread, I was debating between the nb205 or a dell mini 9 but just ordered the nb205.

I was wondering what kind of battery life you are getting when using OSX, reading reviews on the nb205 I see consistently 8+ hours of run time. Now I'm sure some of the runtime has to do with some customizations Toshiba did within windows but I was wondering what you have been getting on OSX.

@cheezed: Thanks for the comments. Glad to see that you got yourself a quality netbook. I'm getting between 6 and 8 hours of battery life depending on what I am doing. It's still better than any other laptop I've ever owned.

I swapped out mine with a broadcom chip and got it working. Research what kind of wifi chip the hp mini 1030nr. That's what I used.

Say I'm just looking for an internal wireless card, if I were to buy a USB wireless card that works how would I be able to add that internally on the computer? Or is there a specific type of card that I am looking for?

Thanks for the help.

Hey there jeff000. If you watched my videos, you'll see on the very first one where I used a USB WiFi adapter as my source for WiFi. You need a very specific model and another program from RaLink to run it. For the USB device, you'll need to find a Linksys WUSB54GC from your local Best Buy or computer store. Then you'll need to find the correct chip set kexts and the WiFi utility from RaLink for it to work properly. Hope this helps.
