Nor does it work in my case. With my 205-210, any attempts to use the provided fixes results in an unusable trackpad requiring me to use a USB keyboard and mouse to fix the "fixes."

"Reinstall the trackpad prefpane" is NOT the same thing as "download someone's hacked installer" anyway. They are two different things. Reinstall the prefpane implies that you can find it somewhere and reinstall it. Downloading a fix is downloading a fix. If that's what you mean, rather than call people lazy, you should actually write what you mean.

I love when people are helpful, this whole hackintosh thing is about people helping people. But calling people lazy is not really being helpful...

Thanks. But it shouldn't be "hunting." Some people on this forum KNOW the answers to my simple question, but for some reason don't want to answer. They seem perfectly happy with the iDeneb or the highway method, but I'm not, and I'd like to simplify things for people who may want another way of doing things.

Problem is, finding the right OS X distro in the wild can be a dodgy process. Not only can you get broken downloads and waste mucho time getting the right one (you read about this all the time), but even today there is news of fake Snow Leopard downloads that install malware instead of working correctly. That's always a warez danger.

All this can be avoided with a trusted revised essentials pack and a simple method of using a retail disk. Of course you need to own the OS, but ultimately, shouldn't you own it anyway?

Cool Dell 1510 Drivers

For those that have picked up the 1510 to work with your OSX install, if you've had problems locating the Windows drivers (in case you wanted a Windows partition), you can find them here.

Hope that helps!

Default NB205 10.5.7 Leopard + XP Dual Boot

Question for Wingzero and the other heroes in this thread who guided me to installing 10.5.7 successfully on NB205 (THANK YOU!!):

I want to know exactly how you created a dual-boot Leopard + XP NB205. Simple steps. My NB205 now has 1 partition, Mac only, and I have the Toshiba restore discs created from before wiping the drive. Do I need to wipe the Mac partition, install XP from the discs, then re-install Leopard? Or is there a way to start with my Mac partition, add a PC partition (or two? recovery partition for XP?), then install XP from the Toshiba discs?

Wingzero, anyone else with "DUAL BOOT" and NB205 in your sig, tell me how you did it. I want to join the club! Thx!

Then i Installed iDeneb 1.3 as shown here on the second empty partition via an external DVD. Once you have finished the installation, when you Boot you get a text like partition selection(Which is Chameleon 1). The default partition is OSX, it automaticly picks up your XP installation. When you are in OSX install Chameleon 2 RC2(Download Page) within OSX, which adds a graphics selection like GRUB, on boot.

the way i did it was to reinstall xp using the restore disks, and in the disk utility (within windows installation process) reformat the hard drive to have however many partitions you would like. then once windows is loaded, go to the drive you want osx on it and make sure you name it somthing you will recognize. i named mine OSX. then use wingzeros method and make sure that in the apple setup process, you select the correct destination drive in the disk utility. and that should be it. i reccomend after you finish everything get chameleon 2. its really nice to have

First of all, congratulations everybody for such hard work on making Mac OS X runs on this really nice piece of hardware which is Toshiba NB200(205, whatever).

Without your effort, none of this would be possible.

I was really excited in the beginning of this thread, but at the moment I might think it would be better to wait for Snow Leopard, since lot of people and places are saying that will be possible to use it with Atheros WiFi Chip.

I read every single post of this forum, take me lot of hours, believe me. And I think that a full-information post should be done with everything people could gather until now. Even if this post has only links to the permalinks of the others posts, but I really think this is important for new people to be able to read all the information in only one place.

Unfortunately I'm running Windows XP on my Toshiba NB200. Already tried Ubuntu Netbook Remix, but it has a lot of bugs so I've gone back to Windows.

I'm going right now to prepare a one-info-post with everything I could gather on my reading through this thread, but I should warn you that this is my first contact with any hackintosh, so I don't fully understand what is going on, and if anyone think that I should edit or remove the post later, please tell me.

Ok, I'm going to prepare things right now to start my post, but firstly I want to ask here my questions about this hackintosh:

1. Is it possible to use iPhone SDK and then develop iPhone applications using any of the different Mac OS X installing methods here?

2. I'd really like to know if you guys let me translate your tutorials to brazilian-portuguese. There is no info like this in Brazil and most people here don't understand a word in english. Of course I won't take the credits for it, it's all yours and I will show you how the tutorials look like before passing it on.

3. I'm a webdesigner, is it possible to use the default designing softwares on it? Does someone find problems during the installation of them?

-
Thanks for everything you've done so far.
Sorry for this bad english, as I told you before, I'm brazilian, so this is not my first language.

@astrological: Thanks for taking the time in reading our posts. It's been a long adventure. We've poured our sweat and blood into this project for the better good of hackint0shing. Here are the answers from my point of view to your questions:

1. If I'm not mistaken, you need to use one of our install methods and then upgrade the OS to 10.5.7 or higher. The newer Apple SDK runs on 10.5.7 and higher.

2. I have no problem if you want to translate my tutorial to your native language. Just don't forget to give us credit and post your translated version on here.

3. Dreamweaver work on here. If you are going to use iLife 09, you're going to need to upgrade your OS to 10.5.7 or higher and you need Core Image and Quartz Extreme fully functional.

Hope these answers help in your future projects.
