@calibre97: Go ahead and post your exact steps. This way, others can follow alternate methods. Glad to see you're up and running on 10.5.7. Still weird you are having a problem with the trackpad. You apply all kexts for the video except for the GMA950.kext. Leave that one out. Hope this helps.

That worked great! Thanks. I only have a few more problems to work through.
1. Since my update to 10.5.8 i have lost sleep capability.
2. I have multitouch support but no scrolling.
Is there any way to fix these problems? thanks in advance!

Hopefully if I have time this week, I will re-install everything and user alternate video kexts. I'm crossing my fingers to see if the VGA will work. I will keep you guys posted.

@EtHANBB: If you're in the MAC environment, you're able to create a bootable USB using Disk Utility. I thought I posted the instructions on here. But yeah, you can do that and then patch it with Chameleon. You should be good to go after that.

@Felix e: Thanks for the kind remarks. If you go to your preference pane, you should be able to enable multi finger scrolling. I don't have my Toshiba with me, but you should be able to do it. Since the OEM Apple hardware works with it's own OS, you shouldn't have a problem having your hackint0sh recognize it.

@calibre97: You are actually not FUBAR'd if you reach that messed up gray screen. You can actually recover from that. When you reboot, hit the enter key when it asks you to hit any key which will take you to the command prompt, then type in "-x". This will boot you up in safe mode where you can go in and remove the GMA950.kext from System > Library > Extensions folder. That's why you are getting that gray screen. Hope this helps.

i dont have any control over my trackpad. there are no settings for it. only for keyboard. it is still very sensitive with no tap to click or multi-touch.

They're based on the great instructions provided by wingzero619 elsewhere in this thread (and forum, I think). These are the steps I followed, and the things I saw. Your mileage may vary, of course, but I think you should be able to follow them exactly.

0. Before you begin, ensure you have the following:
• iDeneb v1.3 DVD
• SD card with Wingzero's Essentials package, the Bluetooth fix, and the Ethernet fix:

1. Connect external USB DVD drive.
2. Insert iDeneb v1.3 DVD.
3. Turn on the computer.
4. Press F12.
5. Select external USB DVD drive.
6. Wait while the DVD loads.
7. When prompted, select a language and click OK.
8. At Welcome screen, click Continue.
9. At next screen, click Agree.
10. Click Utilities and select Disk Utility.
11. Partition the hard drive as Mac OS Extended (journaled).
12. Quit Disk Utility.
13. At Select a Destination screen, select hard drive and then click Continue.
14. At Install Summary screen, click Customize.
15. Click the checkboxes for the following items:

16. Click Done.
17. At the Install Summary screen, click Install.
18. Click Skip to avoid checking installation DVD. It's a popup at the top of the screen.
19. Wait for install. About 45 minutes or so.

20. At the Install Succeeded window, click Restart. It'll automatically restart after a few seconds.
21. As soon as the NB205 reboots, press a key to enable entering options.
You should see your hard drive in a white box, such as [ hd(0,2) DriveName, with a "boot:" prompt.
22. Type the following command sequence at the prompts. Press Enter after each command:
$ -s
/sbin/fsck –fy
/sbin/mount –uw /
touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
passwd root
YOUR_PASSWORD
YOUR_PASSWORD (to confirm)
reboot
23. OPTIONAL (but I found it helps) Upon rebooting, press F2 and enter BIOS setup.
Make sure the following settings are in place:
USB Sleep and Charge: [Disabled]
Legacy USB Support: [Disabled]
23.1 Press F10 to save changes and exit.
23.2 Computer may reboot an extra time before the grey screen and Apple logo appear.
24. At login screen, type "root" for Name, and [Password} for Password, substituting what you provided in step 22.
25. Click System Preferences, and then Accounts and create a new user account with Admin rights. You may want to also enable automatic login for convenience.
25.1 Restart or log out and then login as the new user.
26. Copy the following items to a desktop folder that you should create (since there won’t be one):
NOTE: Unzip the files after copying them if you haven’t already unzipped them to the SD card.
• Toshiba NB205 Essentials Package (directory with multiple subdirectories)
• Toshiba NB205 Ethernet Fix (directory with several files)
• ToshibaBluetooth.kext (single file)
• 10.5.7 Combo update (single file)
27. Open Toshiba NB205 Essentials Package > OSX86Tools_1.0.150 > OSX86Tools.
28. Click Install Kexts.
28.1 When prompted, click OK in the dialog with the message:
"Please follow the dialogs to install new kext(s). Clicking Cancel at any time will quit this wizard."
29. Browse to Toshiba NB205 Essentials Package > Kexts > Master Toshiba NB205 Kexts.
29.1 Select all kexts. The MACam.kext file remains greyed out.
29.2 Click Choose and then click OK where your hard drive is selected.
NOTE: Make sure your hard drive is selected, and NOT the SD card.
29.3 If prompted for network preferences, click Cancel.
29.4 Click Install and authenticate if necessary.
30. Click Restart after the kexts have been installed.
30.1 Click OK when prompted about updating boot caches, or wait a few seconds and it'll restart automatically.
NOTE: Upon restarting, resolution will be fixed, webcam will work, sound will work, and wifi will work (if you've swapped Wifi cards). Time machine should also work.
31. Open Toshiba NB205 Essentials Package > UInstaller > UInstaller.
32. Select Apply kext package and Install PC_EFI v9 Chameleon Edition 1.0.12 and then click Install.
Installation messages appear beneath the Install button.
NOTE: Make sure your NB205 hard drive is selected and not the SD card.
33. Close the Universal OSx86 Installer window.
34. Open Toshiba NB205 Essentials Package > DSDTPatcherGUI > DSDT Patcher GUI.
35. Select Darwin/Mac OS X, New HPET Option, and Apply DSDT Patch to: [YOUR_DRIVE], and then click Run DSDT Patcher.
35.1 Messages appear beneath the Run DSDT Patcher button.
36. Close the DSDT Patcher GUI window and restart.
37. Install the 10.5.7 Combo Update.
37.1 Open the DMG file and then double-click the pkg file to run the installation. When the installation has succeeded, you'll see the "completed successfully" window with the Restart button.

DO NOT restart yet!

Leave the window open. You must install the VooDooPS2Controller-0.98-Installer.pkg! If you skip installing the VoodooPS2Controller package, your track pad won't work and you'll need to have a USB mouse plugged in to continue.
38. Open Toshiba NB205 Essentials Package > Installer Packages > VooDooPS2Controller-0.98-Installer.pkg and click Continue.
38.1 Select the Trackpad checkbox and then click Continue.
38.2 Click Install, and then click Close when the installation has succeeded.
38.3 After the VoodooPS2Controller package is installed, click Restart in the Install Mac OS X Update Combined window that is still open.
NOTE: Resolution will be back to 800x600 and Wifi won't work (if you have swapped Wifi cards).
39. After rebooting, open Toshiba NB205 Essentials Package > OSX86Tools_1.0.150 > OSX86 Tools.
40. Click Install Kexts.
40.1 When prompted, click OK in the dialog with the message:
"Please follow the dialogs to install new kext(s). Clicking Cancel at any time will quit this wizard."
41. Browse to Toshiba NB205 Essentials Package > Kexts > Master Toshiba NB205 Kexts.
41.1 Select all kexts EXCEPT for the first listed kext, AppleIntelGMA950.kext. Selecting that kext will disable your screen when you reboot. As before, MACam.kext remains disabled.
41.2 Click Choose and then click OK where your hard drive is selected.
NOTE: Make sure your hard drive is selected, and NOT the SD card
41.3 If prompted for network preferences, click Cancel.
41.4 Click Install and authenticate if necessary.
41.5 Click Cancel to avoid restarting. You want to install the Quartz Extreme Upgrade kexts to get the resolution back before you restart.
42. With the OSX86 Tools window still open, click Install Kexts.
42.1 When prompted, click OK in the dialog with the message:
"Please follow the dialogs to install new kext(s). Clicking Cancel at any time will quit this wizard."
43. Browse to Toshiba NB205 Essentials Package > Kexts > Quartz Extreme Upgrade Kexts.
43.1 Select all kexts.
43.2 Click Choose and then click OK where your hard drive is selected.
NOTE: Make sure your hard drive is selected, and NOT the SD card.
43.3 If prompted for network preferences, click Cancel.
43.4 Click Install and authenticate if necessary.
44. Click Restart, and then click OK when prompted about updating boot caches.
NOTE: Quartz Extreme is enabled and Core Image is hardware accelerated.
45. After restarting, navigate to /system/library/extensions/ and delete AppleAzaliaAudio.kext.
45.1 You must authenticate to delete AppleAzaliaAudio.kext.
NOTE: Sound will now work.
46. Open Toshiba NB205 Essentials Package > OSX86Tools_1.0.150 > OSX86 Tools.
47. Click Install Kexts.
47.1 When prompted, click OK in the dialog with the message:
"Please follow the dialogs to install new kext(s). Clicking Cancel at any time will quit this wizard."
48. Browse to Toshiba NB205 Essentials Package > Kexts > Time Machine Backup Kext.
48.1 Select IONetworkingFamily.kext. It's the only one.
48.2 Click Choose and then click OK where your hard drive is selected.
NOTE: Make sure your hard drive is selected, and NOT the SD card.
48.3 If prompted for network preferences, click Cancel.
48.4 Click Install and authenticate if necessary.
49. Click Restart after the kexts have been installed.
NOTE: This concludes wingzero’s tutorial. The following steps install the Ethernet and Bluetooth kexts.
50. After restarting, open Toshiba NB205 Essentials Package > OSX86Tools_1.0.150 > OSX86Tools.
51. Click Install Kexts.
51.1 When prompted, click OK in the dialog with the message:
"Please follow the dialogs to install new kext(s). Clicking Cancel at any time will quit this wizard."
52. Browse to ToshibaBluetooth.kext.
52.1 If you did not already unzip the file, do so and then browse to the resulting file as noted.
52.2 Click Choose and then click OK where your hard drive is selected.
NOTE: Make sure your hard drive is selected, and NOT the SD card.
52.3 If prompted for network preferences, click Cancel.
52.4 Click Install and authenticate if necessary.
53. Click Restart after the kext has been installed.
53.1 Click OK when prompted about updating boot caches, or wait a few seconds and it'll restart automatically.
54. After restarting, browse to Toshiba NB205 Ethernet Fix.
54.1 If you did not already unzip the file, do so and then browse to the resulting file as noted.
55. Double-click RTGNICv2.0.0.pkg and install the Realtek PCI-E Ethernet Network Adapter.
55.1 Click Continue, Continue, Continue, and then Agree.
55.2 Click Install and authenticate if necessary.
55.3 Click Continue Installation and note that a restart is required.
56. Click Restart when the installation has succeeded.
56.1 Click OK when prompted about updating boot caches, or wait a few seconds and it'll restart automatically.

At this point you are done! You have a fully functional 10.5.7 system. If you have not already done so, you should look into a replacement Wifi card as the standard Atheros card is not (yet) supported. Several people in this forum have reported success with a Dell 1510 mini-PCI Wifi card (available on eBay for about $20 US).

Run Software Update and select whichever updates you want.
It's recommended that you apply each update and reboot afterward to be safe.

I typed up the instructions with nice formatting and screen shots and made a PDF, but it's 500KB so I couldn't post it here. Any suggestions for somewhere to put it (if anyone's even interested)?
