Default Volume?

So my sound works, although i have to manually switch between internal sound and headphone jack, but that was expected. My question is, isnt it supposed to be louder? I mean, when i have my headphones plugged in its fine but the internal speaker in very low. I can barely hear it. The volume is up all the way, but very low. Am i missing something?

Go into the sound prefs and put the Master Sound AND the PCM Sound to full. It will be much louder.

Default ok i have everything installed...

i have a few questions. i have everything installed, and updated to 10.5.8 and i am having some troubles.

first thing is that my vga out doesnt work right. i tell it to mirror displays and plug in the external monitor, and all i get is grey on both screens. i can move the mouse cursor around, but no actual desktop.

also my trackpad isnt working very well. i cant scroll with the trackpad, or click. i have to use the buttons. also it still seems kinda fast (no where near as bad as it was, but still pretty fast)

last thing is if i go to 'about this mac' my processor shows up as 2.05ghz and unknown. not sure what thats all about. thanks again everyone. im off to bed.

VGA Out is a problem with the video kext, nothing we can do to fix it.

Not sure about the trackpad.

Mine used to say it was 2.05ghz but then it went back to normal, been normal since.

Default Finished my redo...all is well. Basically.

I've finished my redo of setting up 10.5.5 and updating to 10.5.7 according to wingzero's instructions (having documented my exact steps along the way-hoping to be able to post them if he OKs it), and now I have a 10.5.7 system that sleeps and wakens, works with Version Tracker Pro (while connected via Ethernet-Dell 1510 from eBay ships today!) and is just plain awesome. Only minor quibbles are the X in the battery indicator and a sometimes laggard trackpad. I don't have a Track Pad panel in System Preferences for some reason, and I thought I was supposed to with 10.5.7. It works, mind you, but sometimes it stops and then jumps elsewhere on the screen when I'm trying to zero in on a button to click. Slightly annoying but not a dealbreaker.

I'm going to SuperDuper my setup to an external drive later. I'd like to try going to 10.5.8 again, but I'm leery of hitting that video problem from last time. Maybe it'll be better now that I'm at 10.5.7 and not 10.5.5 from which I tried last time. Wing's 10.5.8 instructions say to just do all kexts again from his instuctions...so can someone confirm that?
The steps are:
1. Update to 10.5.8 and reboot. Video will be 800x600 again.
2. Apply VoodooPS2Controller kext.
3. Restart.
4. Install all kexts according to wingzero's instructions.
=So follow the steps that have to do with kexts only?
Would this mean also applying the Ethernet fix and Bluetooth fix that
aren't part of the essentials package?
I know this is brazenly cowardly of me to wait for confirmation, but hey, I'm like that.
