Default speaker volume in osx

How is the sound volume in osx compared to xp? The volume in xp is way too low on the nb205.

@JBauer: If I have a chance this weekend, I'll try to put my master kext files in an organized folder so you can install on your Toshiba. I put "search on google" because some people need instant gratification, but if you have some patience, I will post up my files that I used to get it all up and running. For right now, you can look around to see what you can find. I'll tell you right now, I had to look through all the nooks and crannies of the internet to find the right combination of kexts.

@jhh09: Sound on OSX is much much better. It has a dual volume control where you can max one and keep going with the other. So volume will not be an issue. Same goes with the earphone jack. Sound is not a problem.

For anyone who doesn't have a spare HP mini laying around lol, get a Intel Wireless 1510 Half mini PCIE card. They are ~$20 on ebay.

Default Master kext

Thanks for the prompt reply, wingzero 619.

I am looking forward to your post on the master kext files.

In the meantime, I will look around the web to see what I can find.

Appreciate the help.

Much obliged,
JBauer...

Default Hard Drive Upgrade

Wingzero619,

I forgot to ask you whether there is a way to upgrade the 160Gb HD in the NB205. If so, how big can I upgrade it to?

Please let me know.

Thanks,
JBauer...

Hey there J, If you're going to open up the hard drive bay to upgrade the hard drive, you'll need a torx screw set. I believe the size is c7. I can't remember. The short answer is yes, you can upgrade the 160gb hard drive. It shouldn't be a problem at all.

Hey there. I just bought my NB205 yesterday and thought I would give this a try. I already have iDeneb, I was just wondering where you get the NB205 Essentials pack from? Thanks and great walk through btw.

Hi there gverrault. The NB205 Essentials Pack was really a compilation of working/compatible kexts where it would make the conversion process seamless. I've looked, collected and tested what kexts work and what didn't so this is my final pack version. I'm always looking for new kexts to improve my pack but so far I am in search for two: 1) Kext for original WiFi Artheros card and 2)Kext for onboard mic. Once I find those, I'll have the ultimate installation package.

Would it be possible to get a list of what Kext files you used up to this point? thanks. I try to play with the built in wireless when I get OS X installed.
