I currently have an Aspire One which had a ZIF HDD added in place of the stock SSD but that broke on my trip to Rome for the champions league final in May. Since then I have been running OS X from an external HDD. My AAO runs OS X perfectly except for sleep. Has full QE/CI, Ethernet, swapped wifi for a Dell 1390, everything basically. But no sleep has been a constant bug. I'm also a mod over at aspireoneuser.com and I am resident in the OS X section and have been since it started so I have seen all the developments...
And... since I am getting paid thursday I thought I would get a nice new laptop instead of my current contraption. And a look around led me to the NB200. My first thought was does OS X work on it. And lo and behold, I stumbled upon your great guide.
So I think I'm going to buy mine come Thursday
A few small questions,
1. Does sleep work for you on closing the lid and does it reactivate on opening the lid?
2. Does audio automatically switch to headphones if you plug them in? If not, as I think it doesn't based on my reading, have you tried using a HDAenabler.kext and the stock AppleHDA.kext This is what we use on our AAO's and it gives autoswitch wheras VoodooHDA does not. Alternatively you can use soundsource, which I use on my Dell 530 hackintosh desktop as autoswitch doesn't work on that.
3. Do the indicator lights on the front work with OS X?

Also, if you do happen to disable the wifi and it wont turn back on, you can usually boot an installer disc and enable it from there. I had the very same problem with my AAO in times gone by and I was always reinstalling before I worked this out. Also, if you install teh compatible card in the machine before you reformat xp and install OS X, it must be enabled or OS X won't recognise it.
Finally, I think I might try out a bit of Snow Leopard and make a guide, but till have to be a huge amount of work to beat this immense guide you have made. All I can say is thanks in advance. And I suggest a donation button in your sig, I'm sure everyone would be able to donate a few pennies and every little helps for those addons like bluetooth and Dell 1510's...

@rorydaredking: Apparently I'm the first person to actually converted it over to MAC205 along with the videos and static guide. It was a fun little project. So for now, I'm chillin with it. Here are the answers to your questions:

1. Sleep is fully functional. Check out my first three videos on OSX Functionality on YouTube. I demonstrate that the sleep function is working with no problem.
2. It does not switch the audio over. I haven't tried the enabler kext. I'll go hunting for it and try it out.
3. All the indicator lights work on the front end. Even for the multi-card reader.

I thought about putting a donation link to my PayPal account, but this again was my contribution from what I've learned from all the research that other have posted. Thanks for the comments. I'm really glad you like my materials that I provided. Hopefully the HDAenabler works.

Just thought of one more thing I don't think you have mentioned but is kind of implied in the last reply... Does the SD card slot work in OS X, and what type can it do other than SD? MMC?

Hi,

How do you get sleep working with opening and closing the lid so that I don't have to hit the button each time?

Also has anyone had luck with battery not X'ed out and if so how?

Thanks.

Default Trackpad issues

Hey guys,

I've noticed some people in this thread having trackpad issues.
I'm experiencing the same.

The trackpad worked fine in 10.5.5. When I upgraded to 10.5.7 and installed the VoodooPS2 package, the trackpad worked but was super speedy. I didn't have a trackpad prefpane in preferences, and the VoodooPS2 prefpane didn't quite work.

I tried installing VoodooPS2 with and without the trackpad checkbox, and i tried installing the VoodooPS2Trackpad kext posted somewhere in this forum. The best working situation i could get, was to install the VoodooPS2 package, and keep the trackpad checkbox unticked. This way, the keyboard and mouse do work, so it's usable, but multitouch/scroll doesn't work. Any ideas ?

I tried installing the Logitech Control Center, but all it does is say there's no logitech devices installed.

In messing around, i've completely lost the trackpad, so I'm trying an ideneb 1.5.7 install now. I'll do the voodoo ps2 without trackpad, and just hope for future improvements

Any other suggestions for how to remap the keys to get ~ back?
