Default VoodooPS2 error and display mirroring

First off just wanted to give a big thanks to Wingzero for such a great guide. I just got mine up and running this morning and I'd say it's quite usable at this point. I just wanted to throw out there some of the things that are currently not working (at least for me) though I have not seen any other mention of them. First is VoodooPS2 preference panel does not detect the trackpad even though the trackpad is working. I'd like to adjust the sensitivity as it is very difficult for me to use this way. Also, I tried hooking up a secondary monitor. I added the display panel to the menu bar and was able to enable the 2nd display but at that point I would get vertical lines on both monitors. Has anyone else seen this?
Thanks

Default VoodooPS2 error and display mirroring

I got the same error with the VoodooPS2 - my trackpad worked before i followed this part of the guide, so I figured the kext must add extra features. I noticed that system prefs has a voodoops2 icon but clicking on it crashes the system prefs box. I adjusted the hyper-sensitivity of the mouse using the keyboard/mouse prefs panel.

i've not yet tried mirroring but will see if it gives me the error you have.

I have a question - how can i get the new chameleon graphical boot to replace the text one at startup? I want to create a dual boot machine.

Default Dmesg

is there are way to get the DMESG output when mac boots up? does the linux dmesg command work in mac?

Earlier, i posted a comment about dual core and that the atom N280 was single core, but when i installed ubuntu on it (since wiped) it always showed me as having 2 processors? Why is this?

Default NB205 Running, Sleep Won't work properly

When I click on sleep from the apple menu, It goes to sleep just fine. When I wake it up, the mouse arrow does not appear and the keyboard does not work almost as if the computer is frozen, therefore I have to reboot to get it working again. What could be the problem here? Also just realized that I cannot get the webcam to show anything other than a black screen in photo booth. Why?

Thanks.

to what extent is multitouch functional, and how do I get it to work?

( I have not upgraded to 10.5.7 yet because on a previous install I lost all control of the touchpad via voodoops2)

The answer is in this thread read back -- you have to boot into BIOS and turn off two things USB something - I look also.

I love the guide wingzero619, outstanding!

@solidus126: It's pretty easy actually. Although I don't know how to do it off a different operating system except for OSX. You can open up the disk utility in OSX and click on your hard drive then click on the restore option. It's going to display to lines for input. One is the source and the other is the destination. Drag the downloaded image of your distro to the source and drag your external hard drive to the destination. Click on restore. This will put the actual image on to your hard drive. You can't boot up OSX from your external hard drive yet. Get into OSX and open up the UInstaller program. There is an option to install Chameleon boot loader. Check that, and make sure you install it to your hard drive. When that's done, restart your comp, choose your external hard drive as the primary boot in the bios and then boot. You'll be in your distro. I used iDeneb and it worked. Hope this helps.

If purchased 2GB upgrade for memory - That will help video playback for sure. Watched a DVD tonight via amazing logitech headphones - was flawless. Toshiba could have done better with the NB205 video board and included the latest offering that codes 720p ... aww well add me via youtube wanna see your videos
I'll have to look it up. You have to love that headset. I've had mine for at least 2-3 years. Still work like new. I've been working on my HP Mini 1000 1030NR. If this netbook had a better native resolution and battery, this would had been my stop. Oh well. Time to sell that one lol. I added you to my YouTube account.

By the way, the link to the essentials pack is down. I believe I read earlier that you were working on including files needed for ethernet and that you'll update the link this weekend? Thanks!
I just added you to my YouTube account. Here are the links to my packs:

Anyone else getting complaints on this?

After doing the initial install, when trying to break into single user mode to escape the registration loop, I get:

USB Notification: The device "IOUSBDevice" @ 0xfd100000 cannot operate because there is not enough power available
Still waiting for root device
...

These messages repeat for as long as I've waited. I tried doing the "Power Management" kext, which may have been my undoing. I may try reinstalling tomorrow, but wanted to check.

Thanks!
Kevin

UPDATE: Please ignore - I misunderstood the instructions, and had rebooted from the CD and broken into single user mode... strange! I got it right after trying yet again, and am moving on...
@schraith: Thank you for the kind remarks. I put a lot of effort into making these tutorials for enthusiast like ourselves. I have never seen that error that you are describing. I know you already got past that point, but what method were you using to install OSX?
