I was wondering if there was a way to install on the Toshiba NB205 using the Boot132 Method and a regular Retail Disc?
You know, I tried that on an HP Mini and it didn't work. So I gave up on it. Found that iDeneb was the perfect solution and went with it. Personally, I didn't have a go with it just because it didn't work... but who knows, it may work fine on the NB205. Try it out and report your findings.

Thanks for the info, I'll definitely give it a shot!

I am having a problem with my Webcam not working. The blue light comes when in Photo Booth, but not picture.

I also noticed in the guide, you don't highlight MacCAM, should we not install that Kext?

Thanks again!

What distro did you use? As for the MacCAM, it actually doesn't get highlighted when you select all. Don't know why, but it doesn't.

Since I'm trying to go for Boot132 I'm taking a modified approach to your process. I installed iDeneb 1.5 and selected no patches or kernels.

I have right now working 100%: Video, LAN, Time Machine, and Sleep.

Battery has an X over it, sometimes it shows properly.
No wireless because I don't have a card to swap with.
No audio yet.

But I'm getting there!

Awesome! Would you please put together an install tutorial using this method? This would be a great alternative for those who want to utilize Boot132. Let us know how your progress goes.

Thanks. I sent a friend request on youtube under the same ID as here: en2ec

By the way, the link to the essentials pack is down. I believe I read earlier that you were working on including files needed for ethernet and that you'll update the link this weekend? Thanks!

I had reinstated my files to be downloadable last night but it probably changed the link. I'll post new links this weekend for you guys to download.

Hello all,

I saw that someone had mentioned wanting to boot iDeneb off of a USB external hard drive, and am wondering if anyone had success in doing so. I do not have an external hard drive and have to rely on booting from USB to install anything .

I love the guide wingzero619, outstanding!

I'm currently using VLC player with Perian installed. Can't beat Quicktime playing .mkv & .ogg files with subs. That's awesome. I used Mplayer OSX a couple of years ago but found the sub title function to be off on certain type functions. You have to insert code to have it fixed. That was rare. So what's this COREAVC you speak of? What do you need it for? I was on my YouTube account and can't find the add friends link lol. As soon as I find it, I will add you.
Duh my Youtube addy is calic01 -- CoreAVC google it -- But the there is and always been a huge flaw with it, wont play AAC on OSX. Quicktime is very loose and outdated because of this its being/been completely re witten re:coded for next Mac OS release.
If purchased 2GB upgrade for memory - That will help video playback for sure. Watched a DVD tonight via amazing logitech headphones - was flawless. Toshiba could have done better with the NB205 video board and included the latest offering that codes 720p ... aww well add me via youtube wanna see your videos[/IMG] [/IMG]

Ive found what im looking for - Being able to run HD 480P Video off the TOSHIBA NB205 with 1GB of ram very smoothly

How -- DOwnload and install XBMC for OSX here->http://xbmc.org/download/

Look in OS / view all files / XBMC for mac /Babylon - 9.04/XBMC_for_Mac-ppc-9.04.1-repack.dmg

This has all the best Codecs and it very optimsed for playing back of HD Movies -- Ive not tried 720P yet or 1080P but I doubt it will play those. being able to play HD 480P is good enough.

I found MPLAYER/VLC kinda failed when trying to play bigger video files.

Default IOUSBDevice Low Power Notice on reboot?

Wingzero - thanks for all the effort - I'm psyched to get this working! I friended you on YouTube, and would love to have access to the video tutorials!

Anyone else getting complaints on this?

After doing the initial install, when trying to break into single user mode to escape the registration loop, I get:

USB Notification: The device "IOUSBDevice" @ 0xfd100000 cannot operate because there is not enough power available
Still waiting for root device
...

These messages repeat for as long as I've waited. I tried doing the "Power Management" kext, which may have been my undoing. I may try reinstalling tomorrow, but wanted to check.

Thanks!
Kevin

UPDATE: Please ignore - I misunderstood the instructions, and had rebooted from the CD and broken into single user mode... strange! I got it right after trying yet again, and am moving on...
