Hi,
I need some help/advise. I have a iPod touch G1 - jailbreak it back when I had 1.1.3. I recently restored it and now on 1.1.5. So I decided to upgrade to 2.2.1, during the restore process, half way, I got an error: The iPod "iPod" could not be restored. An unknown error has occured [14] I search google and couldn't find any solution. I Tried a different USB port, nothing worked. I tried on another computer, that didn't work. I tried downloading the 2.2.1 firmware from other site, thinking that maybe the file could be corrupted. That didn't work.. I was reading something about a Custom firmware package 2.0 that could resolve this problem. I don't know too much about it. Anyone encounter this problem? Any resolution?

I FIND the problem!!!
Apparently, upgrading from 1.1.5 to 2.2.1 wasn't the ideal way of upgrading. I decided to upgrade to 2.0 first.. booom, it worked! Don't know why, don't care, as long as it's working now and I'm happy. Going to upgrade to 2.2.1 and jailbreaking the hell out of it.. finally!! My guess would be either something I did when I jailbreak'ed it back when I had 1.1.3 or the 1.l.5 I had before didn't like the 2.2.1 release, maybe it wasn't a base release (eg, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2) Case closed! |
