On 1.1.4 happily using Mxtube for a year or so now.

First it started with MXtube crashing due to msg format change by YouTube in their wisdom....
Mxblog indicates no update available for less than V2 Os.

I cant get V2 Os. iTunes store doesnt allow ANY purchases from South Africa. Thats why jailbreaking is our only lifeline.

Cant download from torrents and sites with intermediate pages (need a URL to stick in Getright to have any chance of a successful download). Downloads keep geting corrupted (fails the zip renaming test)

Eventually managed to download "iPod1,1_2.1_5F137_Restore.ipsw" not 2.0, but upgrade instructions dont mention use of this version. I dont want to stuff up my current installation so havent tried it yet.

Looking to keep 1.1.4 but use a differnet video download program, "MyMedia0.9b", problem is, it needs Youtube to work and although it loads the preview, seach fails (may be related to the format change that causes MxTube to crash. Tried the Youtube activator fix without success.

Any help will be much appreciated. I need to get downloadable videoclips working one way or the other. To sum up I need answers for one of the following:

1) Can I use V2.1 to upgrade directly from 1.1.4 or do I need to go via V2.0?

2) A simple link (not torrent or 'uploaded.to' etc) to the correct V2.0 to upgrade a 1g touch on 1.1.4 if I need to go via V2.0

3) A fixed Mxtube or equivalent for 1.1.4

4) Youtube fix for 1.1.4 that works

Please note, I cant buy the OS officially and bandwidth is severely restricted here (have to use download manager like Getright).

I don't know if you need to upgrade from 1.1.4 to 2.0 instead of 2.1, but i think it should be fine (to upgrade straight to 2.1)

Thanks Rooster, this site downloads fine, and I see theres a 2.2 version for iPod1. Would I be able to use this to upgrade direct from 1.1.4 using QuickPwn 2.2, has anyone successfully done his yet?

Still looking for answers on 1.1.4 to 2.2 direct (via quickpwn or other ziphone style jailbreak_, I guess the 2.2 issue is still brand new..

Downloading 2.2 so long. Tricking 1k/sec, est 60hrs to download the ipsw, great being a bandwidth bottom feeder... NOT.

Download, restore, quickpwn.

Should be that simple. Someone correct me if i'm wrong...
