Hey I just got the 2G touch for $180 (open box at circuit city, no scratches), and I want to put some apps on it. How would I go about cracking it on the Mac OS? Thanks.

As far as I know they havent hacked the 2G hardware yet...

i want to put some IPA files on my touch, any way to do this without the jailbreak?

Use iTunes man !

if you are trying to add k'ed ipa's then you will not be able to use itunes untill you have a modified mobileinstallation file.. i just upgraded from 1st gen to second gen and am seriously missing my games.. i dont mind not having cydia/installer.app but im dying without being able to access the root files with ssh

yeah, as far as i know, Apple created the ipod touch 2g around the hardware exploit that the dev team found which makes it almost uncrackable.

Im pretty sure there are other ways around it like software exploits but i dont know how safe it will be.

As far as cracked .ipa files go, you have to SSH into your device to set everything up and in order to that you need open SSH installed. (comes on Cydia or Installer)

yeah, i got one too and the 2G is not hackable yet, and you cant put any cracked games on there as of now
