i got the last ipod touch firmware version, 3.0
When i'm trying to jailbreaking the iPod with redsn0w
it's crashing
the progress is
open redsn0w sucessfully > open the firmware > click next > pop-up window of start jailbreak - connecting to server...
and then the redsn0w is crashing with don't send window..
i got Windows XP SP3, and i'm sorry if i got some mistakes on my english beacuse i'm not american or else..

Shut down everything...yes restart your computer and try again and let us know....
are you using 7.1 or 7.2 redsnOw ?

still not working. i'm tried the all redsn0w versions (7.1, 7.2, 7) and it still isn't work.

All in all. The key words are (connecting to Server) server = Internet acess .. That's the problem! So sad I say .. I give props to the creator for redsnow release but most pol dnt have acess to the internet like that (ex. Me ) qwkpwn never needed to be connected to a server but then again this is dev- team.. Shame on u guys retiring qwkpwn. Quick freedom same deal also needs server connection, it uses redsnow in it's program .. Again we need a non servered jailbreak program hope it comes soon ( cough * cough ) JailBird maybe?

well, hold on, 1st of all, just so we r clear, its crashing some time after the whole "hold down these buttons for this long" thing, right?
i am on vista and jailbroke w/ redsn0w recently. i tried 7.1, 7.2, and 8.0, all w/ that problem. i tried putting it in compatability mode for xp sp2 and running as admin. still didnt work. i did some serarching till i found soem1 w/ the exact same story. they said they tried putting it in compatability for windows 95 just to try, and it worked. so i tried it, and voila, it worked!

This is definitely something to do with proxies. I have the exact same problem. I had previously jailbroken my iPod but now get to the part where it says connecting to server. I did prove this is a proxy issue by connecting to the web directly but found I still have a problem. Redsn0w says goes through all the steps but when it comes to waiting for reboot... it says completed but never actually jailbreaks... grrrr. this is frustrating. I think now the issue is the laptop is running OS X 10.5.7

Use Redsn0w 0.8

I can almost guarantee that it is your version of Redsn0w that is causing the problem.
