hi guys, as you may know, 3.0 jailbreak is available in redsn0w 0.7+. HOWEVER, you cannot have installer, and now, only have the option to have cydia and/or icy*. now, whatever you do, do NOT install icy, as this will muck up cydia and icy. when installing anything from cydia or icy that uses debian packager, grep, or bzip2 - most things! - it will say something about a dependency cycle. this basically means that cydia and icy cannot run alongside each other like this - but you can install icy from cydia seperately - and that seems to work for me! please rep + karma if this post stopped you from doing something stupid!

I didn't have any trouble with installing both. I only use Icy .. Cydia is too slow for my liking. I just wish winterboard would work!

Yeah, i had the same problem.
It seems installing Icy when jailbreaking does not work properly. I think i know why: When jailbroken, you first open Icy and NOT Cydia. Now Icy is going to redo that directory thing. I think Icy doesn't do that like it should... Maybe because Cydia is on the jailbroken device and hasn't been configured yet. But anyways, from a new jailbreak, Cydia and Icy do not work together well... Just install Cydia, and then Icy. Easy. -iPod Touch 2G 3.0 Jailbroken (waiting for 3.1 jailbreak) |
