Upgrade from 2.2 to 2.2.1 but keep yellowsn0w?
Hi Guys,
Just wanted some advice just so I can be sure. I have iPhone 3G with 02.28.00 on baseband 5.8 with firmware 2.2 and with yellowsn0w fully working. My question is I want to upgrade it to firmware 2.2.1 but want to keep the unlock with yellowsn0w running. Am I right to say that if I used Pwnage tool 2.2.5 to make my custom 2.2.1 firmware image and restore it onto my iPhone will keep yell0wsnow intact? However if i used quickpwn i would then loose yellowsn0w? Hope you can clarify. Thanks

Just wanted to be up to date as no one knows how long it will take for the dev-team to release yellowsn0w once the 3.0 is out next week?

My question still stands - why? It adds nothing and will just cause you hassle for the sake of a few days/weeks

Most people would recommend waiting unless the app you're interested in is too critical! The next yellowsn0w is eagerly awaited by hundreds of thousands if not millions

Just use FWChanger from Cydia until 3.0 is unlocked.
You could upgrade to 2.21 provided you preserve your BB but it really isn't worth it.
