3g 2.2 restore help
hi guys i want to reset my iphone to a complete new phone and keep only the settings mail contacts etc
how can i restore the 2.2 version without messing up the phone with newer yellowsnow unsupportive updates cuz when i shift click restore itunes says if pressed ok it will renew your phone and the latest version will be installed and that is what we dont want.. any help guys? thx

Hi
If want to restore with 2.2 firmware you first need to download it to your PC Then you can use shift/restore & select the 2.2 firmware you have downloaded to you computer. Firmware Links http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/f127/22056.htm

so Version 2.2 Modem Firmware 02.28.00 sounds right to you? i have several fw's on my pc and shift click doesnt do anything different then a regular click

All you do is hold shift when clicking the Restore button to restore to a different firmware.
This should open a box that allows you to navigate to where you download the 2.2 firmware & restore with it. 2.2 Modem Firmware with 02.28.00 BB is correct for using yellowsn0w

Im not sure why you don't get the option to select firmware when you hold the shift key.
 Perhaps you could try another PC?
