iTunes 8.2.0 was just released and I was wondering if it's safe to upgrade to it. I have a jailbroken and unlocked 3G (Pwnage Tool and yell0w snow).

The description just states that the update allows support of iPhone 3.0 software and "includes many accessibility improvements and bug fixes".

I'v quickly tested on my mac & so far

3.0 beta 5 is working ok
My Jail-broken 2G - 2.2.1 is working ok with itunes
My Jail-broken Officially unlocked 3G - 2.2.1 is working ok as well

But one problem is Quickpwn has stop recognizing iphone devices connected

And I haven't test ipc files as of yet

A few notes on itunes 8.2.0 that i picked up from MuscleNerd on irc channel:

On PC platform:
- ssh tunneling stop working

On Mac platform:
- Quickpwn for Mac does not work
- Pwnagetool fail to put phone in DFU mode

I keep getting this error "There is a problem with this windows installer package.A program requiered for this install could not be run.Contact your personal package vendor."
Is there anything I can do about it?

Apparantly itunes 8.2 changes the way that itunes talks to your computer and phone. This means that it messes with the way that quick pwn recognises your phone if your jailbreaking it. My advice is if you want to jailbreak your iphone use 8.1.

dev team will deal with it after the June 17 release of FW 3.0

... it’s easily fixed in our tools. But we really don’t want to update our tools until 3.0 is out, so please don’t update to 8.2 if you think you’ll need to rejailbreak your device.
