I need Help Please i have an iphone 3G firmware 2.2.1 baseband 02.30.03 with bootloader 6.2 its from O2 UK and Came straight out of the box like this Can anyone help me with unlocking it? i hav it already jailbroke just need it unlocked to work with vodafone!!

That BB 2.30.03 cannot be unlock
Bootloader 6.02 does not allow BB to be downgraded.
You're stuck for now.
keep an eye on Dev Team's Blog for news.

Your best bet is using a Gevey or other sim emulator card for now until a software unlock is available.

whats booloader 6.2 i thought all iphone 3gs had 5.9 or whatever it was??

Search, read before ask ! Your phone now can only unlock by hardware method or use piggy sim.

Can you not just get an o2 sim and transfer your vodaphone number to o2 put in the 02 sim and as the phone is supposed to work with 02 would this not work for you, as looks like the dev team aren't going to come up with a way around the 2.30 baseband

I thought it was just a 2g method back in those days!

The hardware method that TA_mobile mentioned is to open the iphone 3G, remove the correct chip, reprogram that chip so you can put 2.28.00 BB on it. To my understanding, very few people have the tool/skill to do this but it can be done. He's one of them. You may want to PM him to find out.

I can sell you an i-smartphone turbosim! But you should also donate to Hackint0sh and support the community, as this will slightly speed up the rate at which a 2.2.1/2.30.03 software unlock will become available.

If you want to sell/advertise please do it privately or do in in the flea market section of the forum.

Donation is purely voluntary. Yes, we do appreciate the donation to help pay for monthly operating cost and etc ...

However, your idea/your message of "donating to speed up the rate of 2.2.1fw/2.30.03bb unlock" is totally wrong.

The Dev Team work at their own pace. They will release the software, if any, when they feel it is appropriate. Donation has nothing to with this. The Dev Team don't accept donation.

I just want to make it clear to everyone here.
