Default 3g unlock - does this sound right to you?

Hello! I'm a newbie but i have read bunch of topics on this and have decided to do the following procedure. Just checking if it's a good procedure for 3g unlock/jailbreak coz i don't wanna mess my phone

Current situation: phone is currently on 2.2, 02.28.0 baseband, completely new, not once connected to the computer, not unlocked or jailbroken. I'm using windows vista.

Ok, first i installed MacOS VMWare and made myself a custom restore ipsw using 2.2.1 firmware and PwnageTool.

Now, i installed iTunes and what i was gonna do next is Connect the phone to the computer, turn it off, hold the buttons and go to DFU mode. After that i'll start iTunes, shift+click on restore and restore this custom firmware i created.

All good so far?

After that process, i'll just install yellowsn0w, reset and the phone will be jailbroken / unlocked?

Huh! Please just tell me if this is a good procedure?

Thanks in advance!

So far so good. If you have any doubts, check the great guides at iClarified. Good luck

Thank you!

What confused me and was actually the reason i wrote this post was this:
iPhone 3G 2.2.1 Custom Restore Firmware (Windows and Mac) | Code Retard

"Remember, this shortcut is for previously pwned iPhones only."

And my iPhone was never pwned before, it's brand new.. So I had no idea if I should just put this custom restore ipsw on a brand new phone or what...
