Default Update Broke the Hackintosh

Hi,
First off, I'm very new to this "hackintosh" thing.

Here's the deal...

I recently updated my OS to 10.5.8 and now the laptop will not boot into the Mac OS. It still boots into Vista just fine, but I need both to do my job.

When I start up to boot into Mac OS the loading Grey apple screen appears, the screen goes light blue as usual then goes black with my mouse on the screen. Eventually the mouse becomes a spinning wheel of death and stays that way forever.

I have been told I can simply boot from Gparted on a disk and flag the Mac disk as bootable again, but I'm having some real trouble doing this.

Any help would be great at this point.

Thanks,

Default going backwards

Thanks for the reply.

what would be the easiest fix? (without losing all my data obviously)

Is there a way to revert to pre update and try again?

And no I didn't do the smart thing and back up before updating.

Thanks.

I simply clicked update when it showed up. I run a mac at home that is not a hack and kind of "took over" this laptop/hackintosh where I work. I did not realize that there could be issues with the update so I just updated as I would at home. then no book.

I know I need to get into the terminal somehow and change the extensions but I don;t know what to change them to or where to ind that info as I was not the person who originally "hackintoshed" this computer.

thanks for all the help.

Aw, of coz keke just follow the guides in the installation forum, you can try to install the extension via linux or windows, then boot in force mode, but not sure if it gonna work
