Motherboard: P6t Deluxe v2
Graphics: HD 4870x2 (XFX Branded)
Sound: (Hopefully the onboard one)
Memory/RAM: OCZ Reaper 6GB (3x2GB)
HDD: (1 maybe 2 of these) Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache
Optical Drives:LG GGW-H20L Blu-Ray Rewriter & HD-DVD ROM Serial ATA Drive & Sony Optiarc DRU-860S 22x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter
CPU Fan: Zalman CNPS9900-LED CPU Cooler
Case: Antec 1200 Twelve Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black
PSU: Tagan PipeRock TG900-BZ 900w Modular
Wireless: Edimax EW-7728IN nMax 300Mbps Wireless

+Peripherals of course

OK...
Here's were I KNOW it gets hard lol
I want to quad-boot OS x86, Vista pro x64, XP pro x64 and Ubuntu.
I have heard people talk about setups similar to this but it all is very complex for my liking lol. I know how to triple boot XP, vista and ubuntu but ive never had experience with this modified version of OSX, ideneb. So any help would be appreciated. Please if anyone can lead me to a tutorial for someoe in my situation please do or if your brave wenough to even tell me wether this can be done before I build this system.

Im fully open here so please critise me as Im sorta new to this whole thing and Im eager to learn. If there are any problems with this build please tell me. Also if there are any other parts you would recommend instead of the ones ive chosen please tell me.

Basically Can This Be Done???? And If So How???

Default Tagan

I would not take a Tagan power supply as I had 2 and they both failed and I was later told in a hardware store they over rated the power a bit and they were not as powerful as claimed to be. Whether that is true or not I do not know but I recently used a Thermaltake which is great.

ATI cards may not have Apple support lasting as long as Nvidia which is another point to consider.

Gigabyte mainboards are also better than Asus in my opinion having built many PC's over the years. However you should be fine with Asus I think.

Good Luck

Thanks m8, think ill change power supply now lol Ill be keeping the ATI card though (thers bound to be a driver for it somewhere and ive had bad experiences witha nvidia card before lol) and ill take a looksy at the gigabyte mobos.

Has anyone ever had any experience with the quad boot? That's my biggest concern and i dont know wether it will work. There are very few threads on the internet about quad booting so please help...

Default Quad boot very difficult

There used to be a guide to do it on Wikipedia but is not up there anymore (no idea why?) and I considered it but it is nigh on impossible unless you are a very very advanced user. It involves knowing the command line very well in Linux and Apple. It is easy to make a mistake. For the quad boot job the best tool to use is GPARTED an advanced sort of partitioning tool. You must change the boot flag options several times as you install each OS. One little mistake and the whole job is finished and you must start again. I would go for either a few hard disks and selecting which one to start in the bios or removable drives. That way you get the same thing more or less and much easier. I tried and I could not do it. I am a pretty advanced computer user as well. Good luck.

Default Yes and some

Yes that is it. I could not find it anymore I guess I was looking at the wrong website.

I think the hardest part will be installing OSX it is not a normal install like a real OSX install. Iatkos was the one I used and you must check your hardware for which is acceptable and easiest with which drivers here:

Main Page - OSx86

and this may be of use to you also.

Hackintosh Search

good luck again....

Maybe I missed something recent, but as of a few weeks back there was either no way to get a 4870x2 to work, or maybe some did but it was a major pain.

I tried a few methods and never got mine to show anything more than a white garbled mess on black screen.
