Here is as much as I know. I originally began with hackintosh installed on my machine. I added another hard drive and installed Ubuntu 8.10 on it. After this, I was unable to get to my hackintosh OS. When perusing around the terminal in linux, I can see the 'boot' file for osx listed in:
/media/HarDrive/boot I am pretty sure that Grub recognizes the Ubuntu harddrive as hd0,5. I have also tried to edit the grub 'menu.lst' file by adding title Hackint0sh root (hd1,1) >>>> I have tried (hd1, a lot of different numbers) makeactive chainloader +1 ************************************************** ************* Here is the output for fdisk -l: WARNING: GPT (GUID Partition Table) detected on '/dev/sda'! Similar problem. I had Kalyway 10.5.2 on an IDE HD with 35Gb of free space left on it. I installed Ubuntu in the free space. Ubuntu comes with the GRUB boot loader and GRUB won't recognize the Kalyway installation. I'm almost positive I didn't overwrite or corrupt any part of the Kalyway install, so I think if I just remove GRUB I should be able to boot into OSX.
So basically: How do I uninstall GRUB? Thanks |
