install hangs when creating partition
Hi all, thought I'd give this hackintosh malarkey a go since I've tried most falvours of linux and windows already. I'm using IPC 10.5.5 install on a p4 3.4GHZ, abit as8 mobo, 1 gb ram and 120GB IDE HD. I get the install page up, and can open the disk utility. However, when I try to create the boot partition on my hd it falls over. It's not a fresh hd, but I have wiped the partition using gparted on a live cd.
Any ideas?

never mind, I installed a copy of macdrive and formatted it to whatever fs macs use.
Having some other issues now, but I'll work through them and see what happens! Main one is that it installs fine then does nothing after reboot... joy

Ok, on my 5th install now and starting to get a little despondent.
Here's what I have in my test box: P4 3.4GHz Abit AS8 nVidia 6600gt 1GB RAM 120GB IDE HD Tried it with the following: voodoo, nvidia 128, icXX, alc880 But all I get is a disk failure message and a sad feeling
