Hi everyone,
I searched the forum for an answer but I had no luck. I successfully installed iDeneb 1.4 on my desktop PC. The installation went without problems, I made one partition on my hard drive to make sure that the partitioning of the hard drive would not interfere with the installation. I customized the installation by selecting only the hardware I had inside my PC. The installation completed and computer restarted. Now I get stuck on the boot screen, the PC hangs while displaying Apple logo. I restarted the PC and entered -v parameter to see what is going on and I can only see: "Mac Framework successfully initialized using 10485 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers" it all stops right here. I cannot get past this screen. So if there is any useful information on this matter I would appreciate it if someone could post an answer or a link to a location with helpful info. Thank You! Hey there, this should work but you need to MOD the BIOS or try retail, check the hardware section and look for macnut thread, everything else looks ok, good luck and report back ;D

I have managed to boot the installed iDeneb 1.4 from hard drive.
I had to boot from DVD then at startup I had to press F8 to enter manual command rd=disk0s1 and it booted the iDeneb from HD. I dont understand why the iDeneb from HD wont start on its own, becouse if this command if sufficient to start it is it possible to make some sort of a script that will do this automaticlly. Can I do something so that I wont have to insert the DVD every time I want to start the PC. I have moved from Windows to OSX and I like it very much. I also have an iPhone 3G and would like to do some XCode programming so that I can make simple iPhone Apps. Please send me info if you have some on this matter, it would be greatly appreciated. |

I downloaded an older BIOS for my MBO and tried that but it still hangs at boot.
Apple logo and nothing.... I have to use the same procedure to boot... I have to boot from the DVD and press F8 so that I can type: rd=disk0s1 and then the iDeneb starts normally... Please send me some info on how to skip this step... I want to be able to boot normally...without this rd=disk0s1 command... Can I somehow transfer boot files from the DVD to hard drive.... Previously I had BIOS version 1.8 now I have 1.3.... MBO: Asrock Conroe1333-DDR667... Thx |

finally....
I tried to install iPC OSX86.... and it worked.... the installation finished without problems.... and the booting from HD works perfectly.... I can even set resolution other than 1024x768... It looks great.... Now I only have to enable audio and I can leave the system as it is.... USB works perfectly.... I can use iPhone and iTunes 8.2 normally.... Audio is ALC888 7.1 |

Finally got it working like a charm...
iPC OSX86 10.5.6.... Graphics and audio works fine.... (for audio I had to install AzaliaAudio driver...) now I will stick to iPC OSX86.... Posting my full specs for others to see.... Intel E2160 1.8 Ghz 800Mhz BUS 2GB DDR2 RAM Crucial 667MHz Asrock Conroe1333-DDR667 v1.0 (Intel 945GC A2, Intel ICH7, ALC888) 250 GB Western Digital SATA 16MB 7.200rpm DVD-RW LG SATA ATI Radeon 3870 512MB DDR4 OSX looks and feels great.... Finally a good alternative for x86 based PCs... I guess it will take some time to get used to new keyboard shortcuts...but no problem...always ready to learn.... BTW: I used GUID partitioning....didnt try MBR... |
