Ok i was really lucky with the installation of iPC OSx86 10.5.6. I was able to do it on my first shot without any errors.
Initially i had to use "cpus=1" code at boot but after installing the patch (although I remember selecting it at time of install) I dont have to do that anymore. So with all that set I still manage to get a problem with "Installing *.dmg files on the OS". Initially it was causing the OS to crash so I found out I had to reinstall the SeatBelt Patch. After that every time it tries to mount the OS gives an error msg in a black box saying I have to restart and gives the same error again and again. Any Ideas whats up with this? I have also tried the permission thing in disk utility. So I am not sure how to get around this problem. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. p.s. on a side note I have a Q6600 I was wondering are all the cores of the processor being used with the OS even though it only list 1. Thanks. |

If that error is a stop sign or something similiar it's called a kernel panic. Try chosing different kernels not just the standard one. And for the Q6600 no if it says 1 it can only use 1, the reason it's using 1 is that you have the cpu=1 -f boot flag. (I got the same problem)

the error is more like a black box with the words "restart or hold your power button" written in 3 different languages. Is that a case of kernel panic too. Out of the 6 which would you recommend...which one did you end up using.
I got an Abit IP35 Pro Board.... Thanks, |
