hello, I'm new here and have been surfing around on google finding the easiest way to install and run leopard on my laptop while keeping vista as well. The problem is I have dl'ed iatkos as well as ideneb but can't seem to get them to boot or even start to install when I reboot my laptop. I have an Asus x83vm laptop and have partitioned my C drive into a smaller section and have gone off of all tutorials and searches I can find, but nothing seems to get me past that stupid blinking cursor. And, that is the problem, everytime I put in the iatkos or ideneb disk and reboot, all i get is a blinking cursor. I couldn't find anything else that addresses this, because all my searches on this only lead me to "blinking cursor after install." Mine is before install. If I am not prepping my laptop right prior too install, please advise as I couldn't find anything about system prep (ex..bios, hdd, software needed) other than what I have and have done above.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

is it booting from CD or DVD in BIOS?

If it boots it should show you a darwin boot...press F8 and then type in -v

..this will show you it boot, and you can see why its not going all the way...

it's not booting at all. That's the thing, when I reboot my laptop, with the disc (dvd+r) in, all I get is a blank screen with a blinking cursor at he top left. Nothing more, nothing less.... I have tried iatkos v4 and v5. no luck, ideneb v1.4 no luck either all give me the same blinking cursor. I do have a question though because when I downloaded the iatkos files, they had an mdf file with the iso, am I to burn those on the disc as well? I burned it with the iatkoas v4 disc but didn't with the iatkos v5 disc. Still no positive results.

-hello everyone.. this distro is actually the second i downloaded. first it was 10.5.6 from xxx or something, but both are stopping right after DARWIN loader boots. at this point i can use my keybord and press f8. i tried different keys: -f -v -x -s. with the two last, shows a lot of things and i could see stops after ACPI, but sometimes goes further, though never show logo or anything, only in the other modes, but it doesn't do anything, the far i've tried it's 20 minutes in case was looking for something.)

-i saw a thread with a solution for this, but the thing is my keyboard stops working completely as its frozen, i can tell cuz' i press caps lock o num lock, the lights on the keyboard doesn't change.

-i don't have a pcie card, all i have it's integrated graphics, intel Q35 but it's running perfectly windows se7en with aero enabled by default, i didn't tweak anything.

specs:
intel core 2 duo (vpro 2.83 ghz)
2 gb ram ddr2
intel express chip Q35
dvd-rw 16x
200 HDD SATA (i left a partition with 10gb as unused space)

-a question with this.. i couldn't set my SATA drive to AHCI, because my mobo doesn't have that option.. could that be the issue?

hello, thanks for the help, but i figured it out that my laptop's dvd burner is not as great as my pc's. It wasn't burning the image correctly but my pc helped me get past that, now I just need to figure out how to get past the stupid apple screen in initial post-install boot up.
