I have still not been able to boot into OSX on my HP Pavilion m9340f. It uses the same board as the tutorial (LB). I did the BIOS revision mod 5.17, I changed HDD controller to AHCI, and turned on emulation etc. in BIOS. I have successfully installed the OS it says using the custom settings in the tutorial (the only thing I left out was the graphics card driver (I have a 9500GS, it's not listed).

Whenever I boot up I get the Mac apple and the spinning circle underneath it until it freezes.

So my question is what am I doing wrong. I've tried iatkos, ideneb and JaS with no solution. I know others have gotten it to work on similar and exact models of computers. Help is appreciated.

So weird JTM, and like you said other users with the same PC did it, you dont need to turn it on the Emulation, just AHCI and XD Bit, did you try to boot with cpus=1 -v? if you get any error please post back

I've tried booting using cups=1 -v and I get the following. All the code is run down the screen etc.

The only failures I see are one at the middle of the page. Something about Firwire security mode set to full.

At the end of the code that is being run I see "display:family specific matching fails".

Any idea?

@_o; But you can boot into the installation without flags right? and custom your system and everything? did you try with several distro and none of them seems to work with your system @_o; try to contact someone with the same specs and ask them if they did some special thing.

Yeah, it allows me to customize and install OSX fine, it just never boots up like it should. I have tried contacting a couple people and didn't get too much information, I will try again.

Well with old distros like JaS or Leo4all you dont need to select much things, try with jas without customize, and remember always format your partition, dont install over another installation, JaS should work without customize

If you have issues, go with iPC 10.5.6. Works great for your model. Everything works out of the box except for graphics drivers. You'll want to select the correct audio device during setup. Also I think you'll want the shutdown fix as well. Then you can add the graphics drivers when you're up.

Thanks for the reply, JaS installed correctly but when it boots it says please connect a keyboard. It won't go past this screen. I don't see anything in customize that helps me ( I have PS2 mouse and keyboard). Any ideas?

You forgot to install PS2nub or PS2 fix, install it in the customization part, or replace them with USB keyboard and mouse XD

but as you can see it works ;P the only problem are your PS2 stuff
