Alright so i finally got everything to boot up properly and even typing on it right now.

Only problem im having at this time (im theres probably others, but ill see) is after im booted up into OSX 10.5.5 (iatkos 5i) the fan on my graphics card is going 100% constantly, like the pc is still booting up. maybe its just a driver problem, but when i tried other drivers, the system will freeze on the grey screen with the apple on boot up. Fan also works normally and quiet when running vista.

My PC:

HP Pavillion M9340f
ASUS IPIBL-LB mobo with intel express G33 chipset
Q6700 core 2 quad 2.66ghz
Bios 5.23 modded
7gb of RAM
SATA 750gb Hdd
Nvidia geforce 9500gs 512mb

Ok great. Now do i keep the same settings as you? Obviously my video card is the 8500 GT 512mb...so will there be a EFI String for that video card during the install?

I got the link for the LAN

I have to install a ktext...is it just a drag and drop? Here are the insructions for 82566DC-2 but they dont make sence to me. can i just install them using the Kext Helper b7 instead of the procedure below?

Flatfoot listem me.....download the last version of the kext in this link Technology Research Information ..this is the dingguijin forum...download the package in the first post...the first link!!!!unzip
you will find many files but you only take the Intel82566MM.kext

1° - open the terminal and digit kextstat - enter...
to catch your system information: the version of com.apple.iokit.IONetworkingFamily - com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily - com.apple.kpi.bsd - com.apple.kpi.iokit - com.apple.kpi.libkern - com.apple.kpi.mach.

2° - now open and scroll the Intel82566MM.kext /content/info.plist you'll see this:

<key>OSBundleLibraries</key>
<dict>
<key>com.apple.iokit.IONetworkingFamily</key>
<string>1.6.0</string>
<key>com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily</key>
<string>2.4.1</string>
<key>com.apple.kpi.bsd</key>
<string>9.3.0</string>
<key>com.apple.kpi.iokit</key>
<string>9.3.0</string>

<string>9.3.0</string>
<key>com.apple.kpi.mach</key>
<string>9.3.0</string>

.................change your system information in the same voice..and save.

istall the Intel82566MM.kext in ....../system/library/extensions ....and you're done!
i have install with the Kext Helper b7.

Great post icchansan! Your guide and help here on the forums is impeccable.

I have a HP Pavillion Elite m9150f that I was able to get fully working (excluding firewire) following your guide using modded bios 5.17 and iAtkos V5i.

Since I have a dedicated drive for my hackintosh I thought why not format all my hard work and try to install retail This is where im running into some issues. First I cannot boot retail os x dvd with boot-132 if I don't use the modded bios. Munky's guides I've read all say it should be possible. Could it be because I am using a generic boot-132 cd? Do i need a custom one for our motherboards?

I flashed back to the modded bios and was then able to boot the retail DVD with boot-132 and install OS X 10.5.6. I would like install working using chameleon EFI boot partition. I havent touched the install since it finished, so no new kext or customization yet.

Do you have any info or guide for setting up chameleon EFI for the HP Elite's? or any info on getting retail working on a stock bios

I'm very new to os x so still trying to get my head around the whole kext boot thing.

I bought my first mac couple of months ago (macbook pro) and love it and now time to go hackintosh on my HP

Yeah like I said in the tutorial you guys can be able to install retail, actually I did it, and a couple guys post a couple useful info in my blog long time ago, you can check the comments, follow munkys guide and good luck

Here the files for the EFI Partition

I found one way to get firewire, backup APPLEHPET.kext and delete it, restart and repair permissions, report back.

Btw do you guys check the chemeleon? so cool eh

Great, thanks for the files, I will try to find sometime this weekend to give it a shot (wifey keeps nagging about being on the computer all the time).

Chameleon looks real cool, hopefully it all goes well. That would be my ideal setup, retail + chameleon EFI.

To get the firewire working just need to backup APPLEHPET.kext from system/library/extensions, copy it somewhere else, then delete it, repair permissions and restart, it should be working now

Thanks Icchansan. Firewire is working...I'm at 10.5.6 now. Everything works.

HP Pavilion m9177c, 4.5gb RAM, 24in LCD with NVIDIA 8500 GT 256mb + firewire works.

Kudos!
