When i tried it on my laptop which didnt work either it got to the grey mac screen and then i could slide the power button and it would go allthe way to a apple keyboard error and freeze up but when i try to press the power button on my desktop it just shuts it off right away.

I am trying to install it onto a seagate freeagent go P/N 9nn2a3-500 because my computers hard drives are in raid configuration with windows vista, windows 7, and ubuntu.

Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
I'll get my step-by-step up later tonight. It should answer most of your questions. One question though, are you actually using the RAID, or just in RAID mode?

God I feel like such a newb. Is this tutorial applicable to an HP A6620F I have? There was one person in this thread with one (that I could find through my exhaustive searching) and they had a bunch of issues however his post was made 11/30/2008 almost a year ago. As a matter of fact many of the posts I find on the internet are from last year using 10.5.4/5 builds.

My specs are as follows:
Model: Hp Pavilion a6620f
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.5 GHz - E5200
RAM: 4GB
MoBo: ASUS IPIBL-LB
Chipset: Intel G33

And I am looking to install hopefully a later version of Leopard or Snow Leopard, can anyone just provide me with a bit of assistance, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Also by the way, I've tried PMing the 3 people I found across the internet that have this computer and were successful with installing a form of leopard but unfortunately these people tend to have 1-5 posts only and were last active over a year ago.

This tutorial should work flawlessly for you to install with iatkos v5. I did it back in march without any real issues. Do you already have Windows installed? What mode is/are your hard drive(s) set to? Do you have any add-on graphics cards or anything?

I PM'ed you Mangina, but I guess I'll just post here as well

I have Windows Vista installed on it, my hard drive should be in it's default configuration (no RAID), and unfortunately this computer is as stock as it comes so integrated Intel graphics (yay!/sarcasm). The computer is brand new, has only been powered on once, and has been sitting in a room for about 2 months since my plan for it was for this purpose specifically but between class/work I haven't had any time.

I actually got a PM from someone over at insanelymac who did it on his A6620f last year and he told me that I should use iDeneb 10.5.5 (as "newer isn't always better" <- his words).

His original post is as follows on I.M.

Quote:
I finally got it working on an HP Pavilion a6620f PC. If you have an HP with 2.5 GHz and the card reader up front, you probably have the same thing.

So, to start off, you will need to flash the Bios. This isn't as scary as you might think. Bash. did it here with an excellent guide (the motherboards are the same).
In the bios, under advanced set it to AHCI mode if it isn't already (not RAID or IDE).
I used iDeneb 10.5.5, which I recommend because I tried Kalyway, Leo4all, JaS, and others. None of them worked.
Install iDeneb, it should boot fine. Do not choose any extra options other than for audio: ACL888.

Now, insert an Ubuntu live cd or something like it. You need to mount the hard drive that contains the new installation.
Navigate to /System/Library/Extensions. Remove AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext.
Now boot into the chameleon bootloader for iDeneb off the hard drive.
Press F8 for advanced options. Boot in safe mode ( -x ).

Now everything should boot fine. Start the Disk Utility (type utility in spotlight). Repair the permissions on the disk. Update from Apple, reboot.

There you go!
Now I'm new to all this, I've been running Ubuntu on my main computer for roughly about a year, and Windows 7 RC since it was released. Now my thinking is shouldn't a newer version of iDeneb have better driver support?

His PM is as follows
Quote:
I'm not sure I could remember how to do it. My thread is my best guess on how to. I had to go with an older version I believe, newer doesn't always equal better when it comes to compatability. Also, expect no sound or video acceleration.
Now is lack of sound/video acceleration due to the integrated graphics/sound or due to lack of driver support due to him using an older version of iDeneb?

I greatly appreciate any help, tips, and pointers you can give me. =)

What OS are you running? If Windows Vista, make sure you run program as Administrator (right-click on Afwin and select run as admin). Not too sure if it works with Windows 7, but the same would apply.
